How much different is this from the first game?
Thank you both so much for answering. Greatly appreciate it ^_^

3. I don't think physical was weak in 1, but its been a while. There are a few more skills in total than the first game, but I don't think by a lot.
Not exactly weak but limited in capabilities, in a sense that only Arrowstorm (Bow) and Thunder Spear (Lance)
are the only ones I can use to quickly break bosses, and only if those are the Boss' weakness. Aside from using BPs, there's no option to do a barrage attack with Swords/Axes/Daggers/Staves (Not sure if the remaining advance jobs has those since I haven't got those yet). I also noticed that most of the time, using BP on normal weapon attacks yield much better damage than using the Weapon-specific skills, i.e. Cross Strike (Sword), and Amputation (Axe). Even the Thief's Divine (Dagger) Skill only hits ones.

Is it as redundant as OT1?
What I meant by this is that: I barely needed to change the series of actions I usually do, be it against random encounters or the bosses-- not because it's easy, but because there weren't really much to do other than to AoE, unless I'm grinding to Collect/Steal/Capture. It wasn't until the final character story bosses that I began having to adjust my strategy and equipment, which is 90+ hours into my gameplay; The first 90hrs of my gameplay is basically walking around and doing the same things. So, I'm just wondering if OT2 has a similar experience. or is it more challenging, battle-wise?

... some won't work on the same NPC if they don't appear on the map at both Day & night (...) As for the capturing, I'll add that monsters you release are turned into consumables, which adds more utility to Ochette, as you could find some items that you can't pick up in chests/drop off enemies. So whether you keep them or not, you are rewarded for either decision.
Now those are some good improvements! I really disliked H'aanit's 'Provoke' due to it consuming my captured high level monsters, so monsters not being consumables in OT2 would make me enjoy that more. That Day and Night system also sounds quite interesting-- I can only assume it would impact how the main/side quests are to be dealt with.

I'll share my current playthrough

I'm currently 3/8 when it comes to character stories and so far, Cyrus' story conclusion is the only one that felt satisfying. Unfortunately, his boss fight was also the easiest; Ophelia's final boss I struggled with-- took 4 tries. I did find some dungeons that are too strong for me despite my characters' levels being above the recommended (Forest of No Return, for example). My main Tressa is level 60 and taking the same amount of damage as the level 47s and 50+. I also found the Shrines of the advanced jobs so, I might start trying to push to get those in hopes of shaking things up, gameplay-wise. Might also try and clear all the NPC side quests before seeing the credits roll when I finish Tressa's story (I'm not too curious about THE Final Game Boss yet; The game didn't do muchbuild up on that). It's that "god" that was sealed, is it?
