[Feedback] Dodge mechanic is not fun and bosses make it even less so.

"Dodging in games in general I believe is a poor way of smoothing out bad attack patterns or overpowered attacks. Can't figure out how to let a player get out strategically? Add dodge, problem solved! No, not really. The attacks are still bad."

Dodging IS a strategy, it's called "Don't be where the damage is.". What else do you want in its place? Your point makes no sense.


"What really drives me up the wall with Titan Quest 2 is as far as I can tell dodging is required in boss fights unless you have barrier which I haven't tried but I expect is basically the same. The attack arcs or speed of attacks from bosses are so close together or long reaching with considerable speed and area coverage that you cannot move away fast enough without dodge. Many attacks are so powerful that you can get two shot by them if not in one. Thus dodging is imperative. Unlike Titan Quest 1, Diablo 2, Grim Dawn, dodging was not a mechanic you could use to move out of the way of an attack. There were skills but no simple dodge to avoid all damage. This made for understanding a boss' attack or your character's skills to be important where dodging is a get out of damage event removing any worry of the attack in the first place."

Again, all you're saying is you want to stand in the damage without needing to dodge. Are you the type of player that stands in red and refuses to move in MMO's? Why are you so insistent that attacks be un-dodgeable?


"Another issue issue with Dodge is if you do not have Dodge available either by not having spent any points into it or all dodge is on cooldown. The bosses in Titan Quest 2 have fast attack patterns that often times reach into distant spaces with sizable Area of Effects. It is very difficult to move out of the way if you no longer have any dodge left. This leads to very frustrating encounters where I am hunted in the boss arena instead of positioning myself to avoid an attack or disengaging to recuperate."

So, you spam dodge so much that you run out of it, refuse to put points into it, refuse to use gear that reduces dodge cooldown and then blame the game for your own ineptitude?



"I believe Dodge is actually hurting this game and sadly the boss battles are the reason why it seems Dodge even exists as any other enemy out there can be avoided by knowing your situation and moving away which is far more engaging than slapping my face on my keyboard to "Dodge"."

Enemies have similar attacks to bosses that are telegraphed and can be dodged by simply moving out of the way. Some have attacks that require a dodge, because they are quicker attacks. Have you not played any other game that requires dodging fast attacks? How do you not know that sometimes you have to quickly get out of the way of something? Do you expect every attack to have a week-long telegraph and the same slow speed?



You are welcome to give feedback, but feedback has to make sense. Nothing you have written makes any sense, none of it. Why are you complaining about dodge being a mechanic and complaining about being damaged by attacks because you run out of dodge? You complain that dodge exists, you complain that dodge runs out, you complain that it isn't a skill, you refuse to upgrade dodge, you refuse to decrease dodge cooldown on gear, you refuse to use movement skills. What? Make. This. Make. Sense.

  1. Stop spamming dodge
  2. Stop spamming potions
  3. Look for telegraphed attacks
  4. Put points into dodge
  5. Use other movement skills like Leap or Vanish
  6. Use barrier
  7. Make sense
