My own, personal problems with this game, as a fan.

Before you read

Before I start, I am kind of a passionate writer, and will probably end up writing a lot, so if you don't want to read a lot, skip to My Problems section.

Introduction

Let's be real, these threads are a dime a dozen on this board since the game came out. For good reasons? Sure. But I want to bring in my own complaints that isn't everything that is very commonly talked about already.

I don't want to jab at anyone, because I'm too nice for such things, but I actively can't believe how many seem to defend this game... Are there some ideas that can work? Sure. But you have do be totally fine with mediocrity in order to enjoy this game enough to defend it. And if you were a fan, and are still defending this mess, I feel like you haven't truly appreciated what the others games did well.

Is what I say true? Maybe. Maybe not. Anyway, I want to get onto my primary subjects that I have problems with.

My Problems

1,
Before the game even came out, I was pretty excited about being able to customize weapons to my liking, and make their performance my own. All the weapons I didn't use much in KF2 because of either being too weak, or maybe having too much recoil for my liking, just as some examples. But being able to tweak them to my liking was super exciting.

However, I suppose this is where "careful what you wish for" comes in. The customization system, while good in some areas, is the exact opposite of what I wanted. The most I wanted was maybe grips, sights, maybe camos. Whatever. But different ammo types, with strengths and weaknesses? No. Absolutely not. This completely removes the pick-up-and-play factory that the other KF games had.

When you got into them, you just picked a class, figured out what weapons you prefer over time, and that's it. As an example, the only knowledge you could really learn in terms of weaknesses in KF2, was how fire did more damage to bloats, bullets did more damage to Scrakes, and explosives did more damage against Fleshpounds. There was nothing wrong with how it was before, and now I have to consider certain ammo types, as well? That's too much.

Along with this, bonus abilities you get with fully upgraded attachments can also have randomized effects? Like the grind wasn't enough as it is. It's like these mechanics were made with monetization in mind, but they bailed on the idea before they put out the first beta.

2,
No enemy feels fun to kill. There, I said it. Maybe you all will disagree with me, but to me, no enemy is fun to fight or kill. When you blasted a clot point-blank with a shotgun in KF2, you'd send that trash FLYING across the map. Not here. It feels like everything is nothing short of airsoft guns, and Zeds just kind of... Fall over.

And it's not even just that, because people have complained about weapon feel many times already. My other problems is the enemies. You know how you could hear the pitter-patter of Crawlers steps as they snuck up on you? Gone. You won't hear Crawlers here. Scrakes can pull you into hordes, which can potentially be a game ended for you, and my least favorite of all... Husks. Husks are THE MOST ANNOYING, IRRITATING enemies in the game.

I remember in KF2, unless a Husk was in your face with his flamethrower, you could at least trust that Husks wouldn't be hitting you every single second. Here, they are BEYOND overpowered, and I GUARANTEE, they are the enemy that output the most damage in this game to every player. They spam their fireball shots pretty much every second, they shell you constantly from the rooftops, elevated areas, and there's pretty much no cooldown for any of it. Husks alone, kill my fun.

3,
This is just a personal peeve of mine, but the balance for some weapons are terrible. In KF2, I was mostly a medic main all the way from its beta phases. Sure, the weapons for the Medic weren't really that great, because they're mostly a support class, but I am TIRED of hearing that excuse. The Support class is also supposed to be supportive, giving other players ammo, armor... And their weapons can be some of the strongest.

I know it's not the best place for a double standard, but generally, the medic weapons in this game are WORSE. Their pistol and first primary can't even one-shot a CYST to the head? A Cyst... Who is in charge of balancing? There should not ever be a situation where FODDER can't be one-shot to the head by ANYTHING. It doesn't matter if they're capable of healing the team when HEALS ARE LIMITED ANYWAY.

In reality, what's going to happen if a Medic runs out of stims? They aren't going to kill much. Good luck playing Medic solo, because it's miserable. "Just use other weapons from other classes" should not be something I NEED to do in order to feel competent.

Closing

At this point, I am writing far too much, and I would be dipping into things people already complain about plenty, so I'm going to stop here. I needed to get these rants out, because the more I play the game, the more I wish I could change it... To find a way to enjoy it more. The struggles are real, and I know I'm not the only one, but still...

If you read all of this, I am sorry for wasting your time, because I know dang well it takes a bit to read all this. I get too caught up in writing sometimes. Of course, you don't have to converse here either, but if you want to talk about the game with me, and give your own inputs, go ahead. Of course, if you disagree with my points, you can also debate with me. I'm not going to be aggressive or get upset with anyone, so go ahead. Hit me if you must.
