Here's a strategy spoiler for easily beating the "Showdown" (that's what I usually call it):

you just need 5 or 6 flame turrets, and around 3 walls. Don't build a ship. Instead, carry the items on you down to the fight. Don't build on top of the door, instead, use your f-tool to break apart some of the ruins and build your walls deep inside one of the ruins. Place flame turrets around the edges. Most of the fight depends upon how and where you set up. If you really want the fight to be easy, get robotic targeters and alchemize the AOE flame turrets with flame + wall.

yes (legit I been kept doing this on repeat.. i think my honor goes up by 1 - every 100 people I greet, approx)

It's 1 honor per 3 people you greet. In the camp, if you have some money (which Dutch needed), donate 20.01$ each, it is like throwing fish back to water I guess.

Also noticed that now when I go to try to restart a new campaign the armies are all exactly as they were the last attempted start. When I had previous issues I noticed the same thing. Usually on a campaign start the armies generate randomly for abilities (religion/smarts/command).

If I might offer a suggestion:
At the point you want us to taper off (for example, wave 1000), add a stacking buff to all enemies. Say, an additional 1% hit point total and 1% more speed each wave past that point.
This would create a situation where every 100 waves they would double in durability, and more importantly speed, allowing a reasonable end time to runs.

I LOVE the game so far, and look forward to seeing what comes next!

Can confirm, when I replaced the file, the launcher patched the old file back in. I'm having issues where attempting to quit the game cause it to hang, and the process QRSL starts using about 16GB of memory. Also, while probably unrelated, I generally have to launch the game 3-5 times before it makes it past the "Perfect world games" screen without crashing back to desktop, in case anyone has encountered any of these...
