Especially for a first playthrough, you are likely to have a really rough go. Hacking is probably the biggest single source of files and blueprints. Without files you are going to struggle to increase the influence of your contacts and hit those limit breaks to unlock better things to buy. Without blueprints you aren't going to be able to craft anything.

The games have never been woke. so you should be fine.

They've been slightly controversial with the topics discussed within them, but unfortunately that one guy up there with his essay of cope doesn't understand that the woke crowd buy into a lot of the ideas these games argue against.

If you're worried about overrepresentation of groups, don't worry it's reasonable, SIGINT is black and is nicely written, Para-medic is female(and loves movies), Major Tom(Zero) is bri'ish. The Boss is Russian(?). Eva a strong female lead(think Ellen Ripley, not Rey Skywalker). And the best part about each of these characters? their Race, Culture, Sex, etc. play zero role in their motivations(aside from Cold War East vs West stuff) paramedic isn't a great medic because she's a woman, she's great because she went to medical school. SIGINT is a weapons specialist and being black isn't discussed because it offers nothing to his character. Major Zero...well he's british and he does things.

The Russians aren't treated like comically evil villains either. NOW that being said like all metal gear games, the antagonist are pretty wild people, and are certainly not normal, but the normal people are mostly just normal.

I hope they don't tone down any of the Big Boss being a pervert(you just look at Eva's cleavage and butt). Not because of gooner reasons, but more of how it fits with the games atmosphere. If you don't know MGS3 was made basically like it was James Bond Film. a long cold open, followed by big band style music, over the top villains, which big explosions at the end as you ride off into the sunset with the bond girl. and what's this? turns out she's a spy?

The game might as well be a love story to the sean connery Bond films and i love it.

If you are hesitant about purchasing, i suggest you don't. wait a couple months, watch some videos on it, the price will drop for the winter sale(probably 20% off), and if you've liked what you've seen from reviewers and gameplay footage, grab it for a cheaper price. I loved the original, and i currently see no reason this one wont' be that with better graphics.

Another tip for Uprising would be to not sleep on Integrator vehicles. With hybrid engine cutting down their supply cost (-30% flat) and engine efficiency upgrade (-10% plus depending on the version) they can be very cheap. They start to shine after you capture Old Integrators camp though (sector 13).

- With engine upgrades their tanks are cheaper than Abrams and still tougher than Movement Heavy platform, so it's good to have them - you can loot 2 from Old Integrators Camp map.
- Their light technicals are the best light vehicle in the game basically - fastest, have in-build smoke and same-ish in armour values as steel armour on your Movement/Founder analogues, don't need a gunner, since the turret is remotely controlled.
- Their heavy technicals are amazing AA/AT platform in general, move very fast and reload fast as well - they have two guns at the same time, so reloading is cut in half basically.
- Their howitzer can tow heavy platform artillery, so you can jsut move 2 artillery pieces at the same time.
- Their heavy weapon platform combined with the Movement Dozer is basically another tank. It's the same train of thoughts as with Dozer+Heavy Platform Movement has, but it's cannon is actually looking forwards, so it's working better. It's noticably worse armoured tho.
- Their trailer is about the same in terms of armour as steel armored Movement trailer, but again, all the turrets are remotely controlled, so less possibility of loosing gunners. I still think that Movement trailers are better, but I use them as ATGM platform, which integrator analogue can't do.

Just don't look at Integrator Dozer. It's bad, period. Same thing about their tractor. Sleep on these two, they never shine.
