Building an army is also by choice. I was able to solo wipe out all the camps by building up my range. Loads of arrows, shoot and run, so it takes a long time and lots of patience. You also have to learn how to matrix their bowman then run up and kill them with melee. If you crank up the range damage in the settings it is too easy. One shot one kill. But then you also have to get good at dodging their arrows or they one hit kill you as well.
