They are pretty cool but I am struggling to find a situation in either map where they are better than standard optics. Any ideas?

One use I had in mind was to find recently shot bodies in the dense foliage of the Quarry map but unfortunately residual body heat is not implemented so dead NPCs do not show up in the thermal sights, even for a short time.

Forgot to mention that timekeepers stereotypically wear tophats and both of them are named after objects
