Game suddenly not launching

Originalmente postado por Game not starting:
If the game doesn't start, there are a few possible things you can do:

First of all, make sure you have an NVIDIA RTX graphics card.
If you have a GTX, it's not supported, not going to work.
If you have an AMD 6000 or 7000 series, it technically works on Linux with RADV driver and a workaround for visual glitches, but otherwise there is currently a bug on their Windows driver... we're working with AMD engineers to get this fixed.

If you have integrated GPU with out of date drivers.
There is a bug in a previous version of vulkan that would cause a crash if your drivers don't support Vulkan 1.3, even before the game is able to check if it's supported, so even before the selection of the GPU.
Because of this, you need to update your drivers for the integrated AMD or Intel GPU, even if it's not used by the game.
Then the game will be able to list all GPUs and it will select the NVIDIA RTX.

In some rare circumstances, something can delete the vulkan dll from your computer. Reinstalling your NVIDIA driver will fix this issue.

If you're running on Linux, the game does have native linux binaries, however if your distro has older version of GLIBC it might not work. The simple fix is to enable Proton, which works flawlessly with Archean, and no performance drop whatsoever.

If you're getting a "Not Responding" after clicking on Play/Join, just give it a minute... it's not actually frozen.

In any case, always update all your graphics cards drivers.

If you still have issues, open a bug report here, we're very active and we WILL help you get this sorted, usually on the same day or even within an hour!

Anthem 2.0

I could really go without comparisons to other games. I think proper critique would judge it on it's own merits. Especially since there's people here who haven't played Anthem (that would be me.) So the comparison doesn't offer valuable critique for those people.

That being said.
I wouldn't pay the price for this game either. And not even because "its not like DxM 1/Armored Core" or "no mechs" or whatever. I think having the exosuit thing is fine. I'm more concerned about gameplay.

But I feel like the reason they didn't go with mechs is because they wanted an open world experience. Which, I kind of don't want. I would prefer the mission-based approach so I'm not wasting a bunch of time flying around a map looking for something to do. Which... admittedly, isn't very much. You can pick off some enemies to run on the loot treadmill some more. You can smack some rocks. You can sometimes find a cave, or a base with no enemies in it, and pick up the same stuff you could from the overworld. Sometimes there's a somewhat bigger enemy with an unusual amount of 'player corpses' around them. It can give you a fist weapon blueprint.

Combat wise, it feels lacking. And the game can't seem to make up it's mind on whether it wants auto aim or not. The melee combat seems like it got the most polish, but it's still lacking in versatility. You just have a combo chain, and if you're dual wielding, you can do an attack with both weapons to finish the chain. And then you can mess up your character's aesthetic to be able to equip one more ability you can use. The only thing I found that actually has a different input is the fist weapon having a charge attack. Two handed melee weapons get shafted being slow, but still not dealing more dps than the one handed weapons.
Then half the guns seem barely functional, like the pistol requiring you to use it between 12-14 range and still being subpar when you're in that range. Or the giant shoulder mounted laser cannon you can get in the tutorial being a very slow turning manual aim thing as you hold the key down... but the aim flies off drastically if you dare move while shooting it. I didn't use the guns a lot but the only thing I had any real success with was using dual silver eagles and locking on.

The enemies seemed particularly easy to fight. Even the humans in the exosuits. The only thing that gave me a challenge was the tutorial boss... But that's because I was trying to kill it instead of leaving Nerve behind. I did get it to 1% hp, but then it stops taking damage.

The economy seems nonexistent. Not only does all the fodder you get from all the junk enemies around the map sell well, but there's nothing to really spend your money on anyway. Shop gear is weaker than looted gear, and only shows up when... you... already got the looted gear. I think. I could be wrong.

I'm not sure if there's a price I'd buy the game at after trying the demo. But even if I judged it based on expectations (being another DxM game) I would've waited for a decent sale anyway.
