Telling players that you are going to wipe all their progression in exchange for a nebulous reward, which is likely to be little more than a cosmetic item, is a great way to drive them away from the game. Instead of wiping credits and characters, consider offering a limited-time series of purchasable items that are permanent and cannot be obtained after the 1.0 launch.

Incentivize players to spend their credits before wiping their progress for something they have no agency over.

I understand that you are concerned about not alienating new players, but alienating your existing fans should be an equal, if not greater, concern.

Nameplates, logos, and icons are nice, but the rewards need to be truly unique and substantial—something that will make people genuinely jealous. Items that help longtime early adopters stand out from the crowd would be ideal.

Consider unique weapon skins with impressive artwork, designs, decals, and animations. Unique special forces gear, such as stealth suits, camo, ammo vests, and armor, would also be solid additions. These items should be transferable, similar to a transmogrification system, to all new characters.

I don't see why having a flaming helmet or something equally unique would be outside the realm of possibility.

Adding distinctive items like this could enhance player engagement and provide a fun, memorable experience. Unique cosmetic items can serve as a badge of honor, showcasing achievements or milestones within the game. They can also foster a sense of community, as players share their unique looks and discuss how to obtain them.

Whatever it is, it needs to be genuinely coveted to justify the hassle of starting over from scratch in this permadeath-focused game.

I appreciate your transparency, but you are giving with one hand and taking away with the other.

We want game hosting, browser features, and workshop support. If we have to wait a year for these, so be it, but not adding them will ultimately kill this game.

There also needs to be much greater zombie variety, as well as extensive optimizations.

The new game mode sounds intriguing, but that remains to be seen. Hopefully, it will be a more fast-paced mode with smaller lobbies and match times, rather than unnecessary PVP content.

The game has a long way to go, but alienating early adopters is absolutely not the right move.
