If you want to take it a bit further, the copper deposits mined in the Bronze Age were about 1% copper. So if the devs went for realism you would get 99 rocks for every copper ore and the deposits would be the size a small mountains.

In the Bronze Age it took 3 men 12 hours to mine and smelt a 50% pure plug of copper about the size of the tip of your pinky. Those plugs were jacketed in clay and every month or so a ship would come around to pick up the plugs. Those would be taken back to a central smelting area where they were resmelted 3 more times to get the purity to 99.9%.

Tin deposits from the time period were alluvial deposits filtered by water and typically found on rivers. It was typically 50-75% pure and most of the tin used for the Bronze Age came from modern day Cornwall in the British Islands.

The same volume of tin weighs all most twice what the same volume of copper weighs. Tin is harder and less malleable than copper. Adding tin to the copper to make bronze made the metal more durable, able to hold an edge for longer, and less likely to suffer metal fatigue.

In the late Bronze Age, weapon quality bronze was made of 88% copper and 12% tin. While mid bronze (92-94% copper and 6-8% tin) were used for helmets and armor. In the early Bronze Age it was harder to get the copper pure and the alloy tended to be 80% copper, 10% tin, 7% arsenic, and 3% lead, though it often included other impurities like silver and antimony.

Iron was available in the bronze age but it wasn't used to make weapons because it was too brittle. Instead it was used to make small tools like chisels.

This guy has a whole series on primitive technologies if you are interested in going down that rabbit hole.

It feels like everyone wants to play them but very few have the determination to do so. It's not a skill issue as much as an instant gratification issue. I mostly suck at these games, I get through on pure willpower. I know what I'm signing up for with these games, it's why I only play 1 or 2 a year, it's all I can take, then I fill the rest of my year with rpgs where I can become unstoppable and fun indies. I don't ask to make these games easier because it dilutes the charm of the genre itself. Sometimes I want to be challenged. I've managed all the way to killing Bo sorcerer with only a longsword build. There's definitely been frustrating bumps in the journey but again, I knew what I was signing up for. If you can't handle getting murdered 20 times in a row maybe it's time to admit these games just aren't meant for you?
I agree with the part of the instant gratification, indeed is something hard to come by in a souslike especially in boss fights and we should learn to be comfortable with trying until we succeed. But still, I feel like sometimes they lost the plot like they go too far. It feels like there's no much though in boss designs anymore, there's just "let's throw the hardest ♥♥♥♥ we can cause that's what they want, the harder the better", and that's lame.

To an extent I agree because not all soulslike are good but.... I remember the first time I beat Genichiro, then Ishin, Nameless puppet. I died to all of them countless times over the course of days. When I finally got them down though there's a dopamine hit that's hard to replicate. A sense of euphoria that I'll always appreciate because "yeah I did that".
