I think we fundamentally agree that the player death/downing could be improved! :)

Also the game is not done yet the trailer shows a development snapshot. Also I don't expect player to have any understanding of how complex and difficult is is to bring games such as this to life. Especially multiplayer games which is in a league of it's on in complexity.
Also you shouldn't.. players should just experience a kick ass game. That's our job. :)

Technically using ragdoll physics on the player model is problematic in a multiplayer gamer where it is important we can trust the player is in a very specific location so other players can perform a revive.
As ragdolls can just go flying in anywhere away from the ACTUAL invisible player capsule position. Which would be a FAR WORSE problem! And a really bad idea to use in this case.

Some kind of guardrails could probably be constructed to avoid the player ragdoll flinging off to an unknown location. But then there is also the issue of having the animation states blend back to normal animation upon revive. So further complexities arises. I'm sure it's all solvable issues. But it would take time away from other far more important issues.

So in a realistic world of priorities, manpower, schedules and budgets in development it has not been at the top of the list to look at.
I hope we get some time to improve whole downed/death experience at some point.

They're not guesses. People have found the updates within the game and game files. Maybe stay in school, you might learn something.

the game happens before the events of all the witcher games so it's a perfect introduction for those who don't know the lore, there are some cool callbacks and cameos related to the books and the previous games. but not knowing them won't detract from the experience

It’s not a horrible experience, however you do have to turn your graphics down quite low to get 30-40 fps. Can they create a steam deck preset that is a balance between good graphics and performance? The current “steam deck” preset isn’t perfect

Why don't you just buy a steam key instead of wasting your time with the demo? The keys are dirt cheap.
