The F2P version has been around for years. It obviously didn't work well.
How are they supposed to make money if they give the game away for free and all the content is free too?

Perhaps they should charge a monthly subscription fee.
Or charge for each match. Wait an hour, or pay $2 for 1 minute. You buy credit and use it to pay for each match. And the game will be F2P. Like mobile games.

Will you be satisfied then?

Simply put, Ronimo shut down its servers in 2023. Awesomenaut could have ceased to exist two years ago. F2P version, no servers. Just an item on your Steam account. Would it be better?
If you don't want new players to bring in $20 to support the game? Just like it was years ago, before F2P?
The game existed thanks to the people who sponsored it through Kickstarter. They paid many times more. And they don't cry.

The situation is that Awesomenauts works. Other games no longer exist.

The price is high for those who have the F2P version, but it is necessary to write how else to get money for the operation of Awesomenauts. How to pay the people who will take care of the game. Don't pay for the game, don't pay for content, don't pay for operation. Brilliant.

If they sell just 1,000 copies for $20, they will have several thousand dollars to run the game. Is that bad? I already have Awesomenaut.
The choice is, will I pay as an old player, or will new players pay? The possibility of introducing fees for old players is also one of the options. There are games like that too. Will it be better?

so like, this game was only 10 bucks before it went free, and it went free because people didn't wanna spend 10 dollars on the game, so 20 bucks really isnt gonna suddenly make people wanna buy this old game, also other games like League and Dota are doing just fine without needing to sell the game because they make their money back sell;ing skins, something we already have a good few of in Awesomenauts. So I feel like if they really wanted new players and to revive the game, they would just need to keep updating it as then Valve promotes your when you are, and then maybe drop the price to either 5-10 dollars if not free since like i said, they are gonna charge you for the skins anyways.

Final note, you had to buy any of the new nauts that came out kinda like in League, so again this game really doesnt need to be 20 bucks unless they plan to give all the nauts for free and all skins can be acquired solely through in game grinding.

How much money will you send Atari so they can pay several professionals to create skins?

You're against them selling Awesomenauts because they make money on skins. That's probably why Ronimo had financial problems, because they made millions on skins over the years. So once again, how much money will you send Atari so they can pay someone to create skins and pay for the operation of Awesomenauts?

I haven't bought a single skin with my own money in over 10 years. How much money have you sent to Ronimo for skins during that time?
