I'll try to answer based on my own experience:

1. When I first started, I did the tutorial — which has since been improved and expanded with more missions, so that’s a good starting point. But honestly, I learned most of what I know by watching other players on YouTube and reviewing my own matches (the game lets you rewatch all your replays). I also learned from getting destroyed by others — seeing their combos and trying to recreate them in the practice lab.
As for frustration, this game has very clear mechanics. If you’re getting hit, it’s usually because you’re not blocking properly meaning, you’re doing something wrong.

2. I’ve found people to play and talk with on Discord, Facebook, and even WhatsApp groups. I’m in a Spanish-speaking group myself. There are communities and forums out there where you can learn and meet others.

3. From my experience, the easiest characters to start with are Terry, Rock Howard, Mai, and Marco. They feel very classic and have easy-to-learn combos. Ken also feels classic, but he has way more combo options, so he can be a bit trickier for newcomers.

4. As for other games:
Mortal Kombat is basically dead — the Kameo system, overpriced content, and clunky gameplay really hurt it.
Tekken is getting a lot of hate because of its latest patch. I wouldn’t compare it to COTW anyway, since it’s a 3D fighter. Personally, I’m not a fan of 3D fighters, and Tekken’s huge movelists (like 50+ moves per character) are way too much for me.
Street Fighter 6 is undeniably a great game. It’s considered the best fighting game right now. It has lots of content and is fun.
BUT, here’s why I personally don’t like it:
Its mechanics feel too simplified for casual players. It’s not a bad game at all, but there are a lot of unfair situations and mechanics I just don’t enjoy. It doesn’t feel like I’m fighting a player, more like I’m trying to survive against the game’s mechanics.
Now, what makes COTW good to me? Its combat feels smoother, faster, and more like a classic fighting game with some modern touches. I really enjoy the combo system — you can chain a lot of moves and it looks awesome, especially compared to SF6 where combos feel more limited.

In the end, it’s SF vs COTW.
For me, COTW is just more fun as a fighting game, and I like its characters more. SF6 is a solid game, no doubt, but it can get expensive, and I’m not a fan of its DLC prices, combo system, or even its hyper-realistic look — which honestly didn’t impress me much.
