Its not that it forces you to go to the trader, but the first thing the game does is lead you directly to one, destroying any sense of exploration and discovery. If you don't take on quests, you are actively making the game harder on yourself. It is the fastest way to get XP, supplies, and your first vehicle. There is really no reason NOT to pick up a quest when you are just gonna go out to loot, and that's the problem.

The trader is fine on his own, but I think generic quests should be disconnected from them. They can have occasional large/story quests, such as opening trade routs.
I personally want to go back to the old note quest system. It was far more interesting, didn't make people feel like they had to stick around one area, and had way more potential for interesting stories and lore.

I personally liked wellness. It gave a proper punishment for death, and gave more depth to the food. You knew you were well off when you could afford to eat a bunch of good food.
LBD was really poorly implemented, but it could work extremely well if done right. Just look at Valheim. It feels great to get stronger with different weapon types and play-styles.

I have actually been meaning to make a post about how LBD could be implemented and tie into the current skill system. Best of both worlds! But trying to come up with a satisfying crafting progression is difficult. It doesn't work with LBD, skills feel lazy, and books/schematics are just a bad idea for progression. Need to plan that out before I share my ideas.

I am also only missing the Heavy champion. I found that you only get the skin if you bought the Ultimate edition instead of the Gold edition for for season pass. It does feel bad that I have to spend another 100 SD if I wanted to get that skin.

Just for the record, there is still no way to measure game sales number or pre-order numbers. Not even on steam.

Everything here is just a wild guess. Even if you use SteamDB or steam spy.
