Okay, took me 18 races (Safety Rating) to get to Silver 1 from Bronze 0, is that better than Silver 0 or not? It would be nice to find a chart where the progress is indicated, as for now it seems counter intuitive.

I believe there is only zero for Bronze. S1-S3, G1-G3 then P1-P3; 3 being higher/better than 1. It gets easier to gain rating once you hit silver. For one thing, you're more used to the driving dynamics (we all like to claim nothing is our fault, but...). Another is that you can ramp up with the 2x silver races that have slightly more respectful drivers.

Well, the Steam boards have always had trolls and rage-baiters and harsh critics alike. There's an inconsistency to its moderation where not all community hubs are moderated at all and some are very strict and you'll get banned just for voicing constructive criticism. While the former can create a lot of chaos and may be annoying, the latter is far worse in that it is actually tyrannical and discourages any type of discourse.

That being said, I'm not sure which community you hail from but The Sims has more than its fair share of toxic people. Most of it is just a huge echo chamber where everybody agrees with very specific progressive ideological elements (see: wokeness), and those who have their own independent thought from the hivemind are driven away and not welcomed. Pray tell how that is not aggression from the "cozy, wholesome" community, it's literally the norm there and part of its culture.

I still recall the backlash inZOI experienced when people thought it wasn't going to support pronouns in character creation and gay relationships and whatnot. Those are the people coming from The Sims more than any other community. And I'm sure plenty of people don't see that behavior as problematic, though, as in those who support it because they themselves have been brainwashed.

The reality is that we've been dealing with those people for over 10 years now and what you are finally witnessing is a cultural shift where they are being combated and their tactics used against them. It's annoying, right?

The Reap and Clear challenge in Thornmarsh drove me crazy, mainly because the instructions imply that you need to pause light attacks during the spinning scythe/halfmoon slash part. The common wisdom is to wait for the spear's visual and audio "glint" effects. This may be the case on console, but on PC you'll fail if you wait. You have to shorten the pause considerably before it will work.

I need two more Steam achievements for completion. I got through the melee business after a few tries, and I'm almost ready to start an ultra-hard playthrough, but what's holding me up is Machine Strike. I simply cannot wrap my head around it. I love Forbidden West, but I hate that minigame so much I'll probably give up on "platinum."

If you go the hunting grounds near thornmarsh, you can get a fireclaw strike piece from the carver. Take that and a few smaller pieces into a game. Try and use the fireclaw to do damage while sacrificing the smaller ones, and one the fireclaw is the only one left you can use it twice per turn which is devastating. Apparently it's the easiest method and I've had nothing but success with it.
