The Mass Effect saga is basically a space buffet:

ME1 – delicious but with some chewy bits (the Mako says hi).

ME2 – the prime rib, most people favorite.

ME3 – great main course, but the dessert came out weird and made people write angry essays.

Andromeda – the “mystery dish” at the end of the buffet. At first bite you’re like, “Uh… what?” (backtracking, MMO filler, and those meme worthy face animations), but stick with it and you realize… this actually isn’t bad.

Honestly, Andromeda could’ve been a fantastic standalone sci-fi RPG if it had just been called Andromeda. But no, EA had to slap “Mass Effect” on it like a “guaranteed fresh” sticker. Sure, it sold more copies up front, but it also carried the baggage of people expecting Shepard 2.0.

Underneath the clunky start, Andromeda’s combat is sharp, exploration has real “wow” moments, and once you stop chasing the main quest like a space courier, there’s some genuinely fun sci-fi world-building. Basically, it’s the awkward cousin in the family who’d be way more popular if people didn’t keep comparing them to their overachieving older siblings.

As for ME5... I’m seriously hyped after seeing Liara discover a piece of N7 armor in the teaser. Whether it’s Shepard’s or not, it's a powerful nod that could signal their legacy or even a return! Of course im hoping it's closer to the trilogy in terms of gameplay and story rather than their MMO style games like Inquisition or Andromeda

Mako in ME1 is a skill issue that separates the Male Sheps from the FemSheps

There's so much hype because people are coping and, after BFV (which I liked, especially the bob the builder part) and BF2042, the bar was so low that even the tiniest return to form could spark hype. Battlefield 6 looks and feels like it is trying to cater to both COD and Battlefield players.

Or it's just trying to pander to the wider gaming audience. Modern technology (TikTok) has reduced the average attention span of humans to 8 seconds. Which is the same or even lower than that of a goldfish. Hence the lower time before you get into combat, the need for the reflexes of a mongoose and an indefinite adderall subscription.
