Just some initial thoughts. Been having fun playing the game.

You can easily manipulate the AI into following certain units around the map. This is how I won the battle of Rivoli in the campaign, my light cavalry just led two units of infantry and one of artillery around the map while the rest of my army kept the Austrians away from the objectives.

The objective radius is a little to big for my taste. During the Rivoli campaign battle, I always pushed my forces ahead of both objectives to keep the more numerous Austrians away. Since it takes a long time to break entire divisions in a 1v1 or 2v1 fights. It makes holding the actual towns impossible since the enemy will always outnumber you. I tried a few strategies where I had one unit hold a town for as long as possible, but then the timer ran out of time before I could send the necessary numbers to have the objective switch back. I never actually lost the town, but since the enemy had more soldiers around the town, they held it. This goes for every objective as well.

After playing a few historical battles on standalone, I almost always ran out of musket ammunition. Especially in Egypt. Maybe include supply wagons? Or just give players infinite ammo in the standalone historical battles. Mainly because of my next point.

Melee lasts WAY too long. I know this game only represents Napoleonic warfare at a very large scale, but the whole point of bayonet/cavalry attacks was to quickly break enemy morale/formations. Or the attacker's own charge falters before they reach the enemy. During the Marengo battle, my light cavalry and the enemy light cavalry fought a duel until almost the end of the battle. I kept thinking one of them would break, but nope. I had to send one of my infantry formations to assist and only then did the enemy cavalry break. It seems morale just keeps regenerating in melee unless outside factors, or casualties, finally force it to break.

These four points are my big issues with the game.

Would love to see some actual skirmishers detach from divisions. Either to slow the enemy or just to help provide flanking fire. In actuality I would love if the divisions I create could split apart in battle. Would also like to see formations, such as square, column, or line implemented. I doubt these could be implemented, but just imagine.

Overall, I have enjoyed the game. I also find it hilarious that you have Massena as the voice of concern in the First Italian Campaign.

that or have dedicated skrimisher and rifle regiments or other dedicated options for the upgrade choices (which only happens once you get enough veterncy for that formation. :( ) is very limited all you get are hussars, and crussaers for cavalry. Line, grenaders, and guard for infantry and artilery (which is the hardest to get veterncy you get 6, and 12 pounders (which is what i got up to at the most for me.) prehaps some equipment options or other verity options like light infantry formations, lancers, and other options can help.

but i saw in one of the other posts one of the options to turn off battle timer so you can slug it out and try to win by army loss for moral breaking cause trying to defend against a larger force and try to win it in 20min sucks ass unless you are agressive which is not going to happen any time soon.


either way with what we have so far it's good but i think we need to wait for future updates and content before we can try for further fun.
