I haven't had any save corruption in WH3 in 1900 hours and dozens of campaigns. Campaigns from well over a year ago will still load. Obviously it's not a good idea to actually play those campaigns, but they load.

Meh, I'll use mods and even make my own mods for personal use, but I'm much more comfortable with Bethesda's Creation Kit than the trash WH3 tools. The simple mod I made to fix the Tomb King Jar economy and enable confederation was enough of a headache. Regardless, Major overhauls are best suited for games that are no longer in active development, like WH2. My Skyrim VR install has 90GB of mods.

Unlike the other guy, I do get the occasional crash in WH3, but it's very rare and they're not usually repeatable. I suppose that those could be memory leak related.

I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling. Here's a few tips I hope will assist:

1. Don't worry about picking up timed quests from the shop notice board. Leave them be until you feel ready.
2. Only plant a few of each crop to start - it's easy to give yourself too much to do.
3. Early game, collect spring onions and combine the seeds from chopping down trees to assist with energy.
4. When going down the mines, aim to do just five floors. Give yourself plenty of time to get home.
5. You can move your house. I place mine near the totem on which ever farm I'm playing.
6. Don't worry about gifting or making friends until you have structured your farm and days to a point where you feel able to do more. I don't begin this until Spring of year two.
7. check the Wiki for favourite gifts. Collect some for each villager in a chest so you are prepared when the time to start gifting arrives.
8. When giving gifts, Friday night at the bar and Tuesday morning at Pierre's shop are good times to cover many of the town folk. Each town member has a routine, and you will gradually learn where to find them.
9. There's no time limit on anything in game. When it comes to the community centre, focus on getting the mine carts up and running first. It's helpful to get the bus fixed and the greenhouse completed, but again, there's no rush.
10. Not getting Grandpa's approval at the start of year three is no big deal. Once you feel you might be close, give a diamond to the shrine and he will re-evaluate your progress. You can do this several times without penalty.
11. Grow coffee beans, put 5 in a keg to make coffee and buy the espresso recipe from Gus at the bar. Drink it to increase your speed.
12. If you're struggling with fishing, buy the Training rod from Willy at the pier shop. Collecting forage from the beach, along with getting a crab from the early mine levels, allows you to complete the crab pot bundle. When I first started playing (no training rod in those days), I couldn't fish for toffee. I used crab pots to increase my level until I could manage to catch a fish.
13. Forage when you run out of energy.
