Exactly. If you really want to pvp over loot go play a game that was designed for it. Tarkov is right there. Arc is out in 2 months. No shortage of extraction shooter/swordplay clones.

But of course what the vast majority of whiners mean when they say 'PVP' is 'firing rockets from an ornithopter at unsuspecting players holding a compactor'. Where even if they mess up and die, they still keep their weapons and armour. The prospect of fighting on relatively even footing where they stand to lose everything would break their tiny minds.

If Dune offered that sort of extraction shooter pvp experience I would be all over it. Even just adding some cave/enclosed sections to the DD where you'd be forced to fight with guns and swords would elevate endgame. But no chance of that.

you may be upset, but this gave was exactly designed this way. until safebub lers like you made it a game for no-ballers

Depends on character, but all factions will gain some relations from healing. Each character has a level of importance, that governs how much their faction cares about them. The more important the character, the more relations you gain. Some have a 0, so you gain no relations at all.

These relations from healing serve little purpose mechanically though. Used to be more important, but now they are capped at like +20 or so. So you can repair your relations back to neutrality, but you cannot ally a faction through healing.

Day 3 of trying this boss... man I just... I'm done bro.
No matter how good my rng is, no matter how well I coordinate with my team, no matter how much I grind for the best Dmg output I can achieve, this boss is just borderline unplayable in multiplayer.
It works so well in single player, hell it might even be enjoyable if the npc builds werent so annoying, BUT MULTIPLAYER, NAH. It's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and desperately needs to be remade from the ground up cause I don't understand how you could ♥♥♥♥ up the balancing so badly.

Okay, so this is an "errr akshually" complaint, got it.

So I'll correct you right away, as far as vanilla is concerned - Soulstorm probably runs better on "modern hardware" at the moment, since it doesn't have additional features that create more workload for the CPU. I specifically went out of my way to test it, along with a better camera/fog removal mod. I tested this in 8 player skirmish vs AI. The game does look marginally worse compared to DE, though, that's true.

You can grasp at straws however long you want, but it's a "launch" of a new edition of the game.

And it's pretty subpar, since the biggest performance issues not only weren't fixed, they weren't even addressed.

If the game runs almost exactly the same while looking marginally better, what's the point of this release, again?

You can't really bring modded gameplay stability into this, because it doesn't really matter how stable modded games will be, if they keep running at 15 frames.

And it's pretty much a given, seeing the stuff I've seen posted around.

So again, what was the point?

The demo let you play half of the game that is currently available in the final release. For now it enjoys its honeymoon phase, but once the initial excitement subsides, people may realise that the game should have been released as early access. Unless the devs will keep their promise and provide regular updates introducing new content (in particular levels and possibly biomes).
Abyssus is fun to play and I wish it well, but only time will tell whether it keep its positive reception.
