wait so who are the kurgans?
The Kurgans are the middle (geographically) Chaos ethnic umbrella, stretching across the entire steppe between the mountains of Norsca and whatever arbitrary line it is that the Hung start to become dominant. They are also by far the most relevant of the groups (Norsca only seems more prominent because it's closer), providing the bulk of the numbers and almost all of the horsemen for Chaos hosts.

The archetypal Chaos Warrior is actually said to be based on Kurgan warriors.

Is it true troll stew or troll-elaborated food in general is a delicacy among Dwarfs or is just another Fatshark licence?
That is real, actually. It's called Kuri, and is made from troll meat stewed in what is strongly implied to be black pepper.

wow now I wonder what their diet consists of

later on ill ask from everyone else lol
Extremely thick beer (you can actually survive on a diet exclusively of dwarfen beer if the alcohol poisoning doesn't kill you first), greasy fried meat, and very dense bread.

Bar food, basically.

They're the easternmost major Chaos ethnic (if you can call it that) group. While in some ways you can compare them to the Mongols or the Jurchens, the better comparison would be the stereotypes of the Huns. They're literal ♥♥♥♥-smeared subhumans who are basically the Hobgoblins of Chaos, so untrustworthy that even other Chaos tribes won't associate with them and are really only threatening due to their sheer numbers given their absolute lack of technology or culture. There's not really much more to say since they exist in the East and the setting lens doesn't go over there.

The actual Mongol inspiration is mostly rolled into the very wide umbrella that is the Kurgan, named in fact for the Great Kurgan who is implied to be an ancient equivalent to Genghis Khan.
Aren't the Kurgan supposed to look more like the Cimmerians from Conan?
Some of them do, yes. A lot of them don't though, as...

They are a very wide group with a huge range of cultures within. Afaik. I mean Gospodar and Kurgan are suposed to be relatives too. Look how "similar" they are.
... this is very much the case. The Kurgan are the group most fittingly referred to as an "umbrella", encapsulating groups inspired by Mongols, Turks, Scythians, Huns, Sword and Sorcery steppe tribes of unspecified providence, and for some reason even Anglo-Saxons. "Kurgan" is basically like... what a 19th century phrenologist means when they say "Tatar".

They, and the Gospodars, all collectively descend from the "Skythians", who were the original pre-Chaos civilization that spanned the breadth of the steppe and whose barrows you can still find scattered all over the place.
