The game does not resurrect any of the characters in the narrative (other than one Gestral, and not counting "revival" in battle) until the very end when Alicia gets to play God. Gustave is dead forever unless you choose a specific ending, but he does not come back mid-game. How people got off the beach is actually explained as sheer chaotic luck. They were not killed there and resurrected.

Way to be a ♥♥♥♥, I included nothing that was a spoiler because I was just guessing. The OP has also already completed Act 1 so we are acting with the same knowledge. You are the only one spoiling.

Ever since the last update my controller no longer functions properly. For example, when the game initially boots up, I try and choose continue and although the game recognizes the input (the highlight disappears), the action is not executed and I remain in the main menu. Only when I use my laptop touchpad am I able to get through the main menu.

Then, the controller works for the next screen where I choose my file. But, when I am in-game and go into the character details menu I cannot highlight certain actions. Strangely, it will skip selections and jump around the menu seemingly randomly.

And i can't quit the game either with the controller. The only options in the menu ( that gives you the option to quit/return to title, etc.), that can be highlighted and thus selected are the first three options.

Another strange thing that is happening is when I go into the Journal. I push down on my controller and it skips a bunch of journal entries. And sometimes I hit right and it goes left and vice versa.

Just really bizarre things that happened out of nowhere. All I did was update the game and then this stuff started happening.

I hope I'm explaining this well enough. It's incredibly frustrating that my wife, who isnt even a gamer, but is madly in love with this wonderful game, can no longer play it.

Does anyone else have these issues? Are there any known fixes?

This^. Grind out the daily/role challenges and the monthly featured series/content for extra XP.

The problem is, newbies don't have enough gold to unlock the roles to unlock the role challenges. So, grinding out the first twenty levels is pretty rough as you can only play stranger missions over and over again.

Just been to their discord, and they said, steam controller will be added soon, for now it’s just keyboard and mouse. I tried using my wireless keyboard, but still didn’t work :(

The Silver Bullets Relic's line "Marksman skills .. deal #% of your current Conviction as additional Physical damage." does not seem to work.

I've tested this with a maxed out Silver Bullets Relic(29% of conviction as extra phys). I used Split Shot as my marksman skill and compared 0 convition shot damage vs 1milion conviction.
The damage in both test cases was identical.

After playing the demo I'm sold on this. Before I wasn't sure because of the artstyle, but ingame it looks beautiful.

My understanding is any staff he has primarily works on localization and console and mobile porting.

Further, the actual creative work he does (such as the Haunted Chocolatier project) is still something he does entirely independently to my understanding. As such, my supposition is perfectly reasonable. Especially given that I was speaking directly to the creative aspects of his projects. I was speaking about how a creator nurtures the spark that drives their creative process.

Further still he's spent 12 to 13 years working on SDV, and for most of that, yes, he was working alone. The first 4 years he worked entirely alone. Some people from Chucklefish supposedly helped a bit with the multiplayer code, but again, were NOT involved with the creative direction and he's since disengaged from working with Chucklefish.

If you have additional information you'd care to link on the subject I'm happy to give it a look, but it is most certainly not an exaggeration to suggest that the depth and breadth of CA's success rests almost entirely on his own shoulders.

Press the button that says "Start" in the bottom left. This starts the simulation that then fills the world.

Once you are happy with the number of npcs to be exported, press the "Close" button to the bottom right. This will export all npcs from the simulation into the game and the game begins.
