About time to upgrade your GPU or have some more realistic expectations.. 4K at around 40 FPS sounds about right for that card.... It is my previous card as well... Especially running Unreal 5 games which are just plain hard on hardware.

But yes the game definitely needs a lot more optimisation as with all unreal 5 games it seems. There have been very few Unreal 5 games out there that run well... So agreed on that.

Not when that I run on the same card far more graphically advanced titles at similar or higher resolutions. Resident Evil Village? Elden Ring? Baldur’s Gate 3? All run smoother. But Titan Quest 2 melts because someone couldn’t be bothered to optimize occlusion culling or lighting layers.

funny, i think this game is extremely generous regarding energy/mana/magic cost compared to most rpgs ive ever played, and it's what makes playing the more magic oriented classes so much fun (i usually play rogue/stealth classes in rpgs)

No, it's normal.
Learning from teachers raise just potential (max level) for the skill.

You still need to have some source of XP to progress a skill from from level 0.

If you didn't start with leadership (or pyromancy/cryomancy/necromancy/floromancy for the matter) two common ways to progress to 1st level is:
- By finding and using a skill book - it increase max level by 1 and if the skill is at 0, also raises
- By building an building teaching associated skill in your settlement, and spending time working in it.

Some skills have also other ways to unlock: for example leadership can be unlocked by gaining the companion slot from other skill trees (hunting, necromancy or construction) and ordering companion around.
