The map is in KM, each square is one kilometer. No you cannot run with the map open but you can place markers on the map with your mouse which you then can see on top center of the screen usually in red. open the map and double click on the mouse where you want to go.

i wana buy this game out of nostalgia since i grew up playing kof, its on 50% sale i dont mind buying it and head to discord to find someone to play with but there is no point in buying it if its laggy.

That's exactly what I was thinking! That intro is pure SWAT Kats and I'm all here for it. This is also the closest to Star Fox gameplay I've seen from all of these games that take inspiration from it. I'm super excited!
