Also if you don't like the unofficial patch, make your own, it should only take you twenty years (given it took years for a TEAM to make the patch), but that's not the point, it makes changes you don't like, so go spend twenty years making the patch you want.

i absolutely would, but given the history with other people attempting it themselves and the author deciding to strike them down, why bother? it will just be a waste of time

Oh and as far as I know those mods reused USSEP code or reworked the unofficial patch (which I personally think should be ok, but hey).

That probably depends on how much of the map you have already opened, if most or all of the line is already rebuilt you won't get much or any chance to experience the new mechanics for rebuilding sections, so if you do want to try those a restart would be required.

I expect the routine maintenance stuff will just drop into existing saves in much the same way previous new features have. Although that does remind me of problem with how that worked in the past....

@DorniNerd I'm presuming we will get new MoW vehicles spawned into existing saves in a similar way to (most) players got a boxcar for repair parts added when that mechanic was introduced, can you either improve the way things get added into saves to actually find some space to spawn them, or give us notice of which roads we'll need to have clear when changing versions so we can move anything in advance that might foul stuff trying to spawn in?
Assuming all the MoW stuff will also be purchasable from ARR my main save has enough cash to likely be able to do so without issues, might be more of an annoyance for someone playing a lower progress save though.
