Funny imo, but unrelated, my old laptop was overheating 24/7 (over 80° celsius while playing) and i was able to play ER without any crashes.

OK well Im going off what he actually wrote not what you're assuming he might have meant as well.

So to clarify again. The skins he talked about in the OP that are super expensive and for whales are cosmetics and you dont need them. But just in case the cheap tabs are what he was secretly talking about no those arent cosmetics.

This is the third area I've been in. I've maxed out both health, focus, and sprint. Past that I've gotten the timeline jumper and a handful of others, I've been working towards dodge and healing specs. I went through the whole area avoiding optional fights (Including the one in the park) just to have enough damage items, the camera has been the best item to stall and escape fights but even that didn't help much against the last three. While I might need to respec the fact that I (or any player for that matter) would need a specific build to get through a fight feels like poor game design, I feel like should be able to spec my character how I want and not be roadblocked by enemies halfway through the game. Right?

i've been to master with all 4 classes except the 2 newest ones. reaper i did very early in early access so it might not be the same difficulty as today. Generally speaking, getting past diamond 70-90 is extremely difficult and requires luck in both shop RNG and matchmaking.
And once you reach master, the game will throw at you even "luckier" builds. there used to be a time when the Uniquely Unique skill was too strong if used correctly. in diamond you would rarely run into it, but in master it was everywhere.
Why? because everyone in master was able to roll this skill out of the random skill draw? it didn't make sense. and i don't even know how many players are actually in master given that people seem to get stuck in diamond all the time.
i suggest an alternate explanation: maybe the game is matching you up not necessarily with people of the same rank, but with builds that are of certain quality (e.g. win rate).
maybe you can build something very lucky in bronze, and then it gets sent to diamond players, and vice versa.
there has also been suspicion that the shop is more biased against useful items the higher you go.
i guess this is more or less my belief until the devs decide to give a full explanation of what's going on in ranked mode. TBH, if you want to get any fun out of this game, unranked might be better.
