So much for "optional"... what really rubs me the wrong way about this is the message EA sends: "So you want all the rewards? Well, buy the DLCs, then." Granted, the rewards affected are only consumables and I think Simoleons and satisfaction points, but still.
To be honest. That hadn't even occurred to me. Now you've mentioned it, though, I see your point. You're absolutely right! I don't think it's such a big deal if they said during the event that you need to complete the optional quest to finish the pass at 100%, and that you need the following expansions. Transparency is more important to me. Although I tend to see things in a more nuanced way, I can still be honest and agree with you.
It only occurred to me when I read on the EA forums that players only get all rewards when doing the optional tasks, too, which renders the word "optional" kinda obsolete. Maybe it's just bad communication, I mean, people *do* get the main rewards if they only do the main tasks, and missing out on a few consumables isn't a big deal. It should have been clearly communicated beforehand, though, but then, the whole event seemed a bit messy and random, not like someone really thought it through or tried to come up with something resembling a story - Blast from the Past was way more enjoyable and interesting. This one felt like someone at EA going "alright, we got a new pack lined up, how about we slap together an event to hype people up a bit like we did with Life & Death"... except with L&D, it worked (at least for me) because there was at least some consistency. This one? You have to do silly stuff like buying a whirlpool so your Sim can use the new bathing suits, after you explore the grotto other Sims go "oh wow, interesting, let's do more with that" (they never do), and everything fell flat at the end. Like pieces of the puzzle were missing. Out of the four events they put out since last year, this was by far the weakest, in my opinion. I like the new bathing suits, though.

EA just follows other companies. Fear-of-missing out(FOMO) is a real issue for many people, the problem is companies will not stop with this crap, so the best thing which people can do is to fight their perfectionism (at least for games).
For me, it wasn't FOMO when I realised I was ten points short of claiming that last reward (I'd never use that potion anyway). Rather, it was something along the lines of "damn, that bar needs to be full because it doesn't look *right* that way, it's unfinished" - you know, like when you've completed a puzzle only to realise you lost a few pieces, can't find them and will never be able to truly finish that puzzle? I'm a terrible completionist - the type of gamer who will spend hours in games to try and collect everything because those blinking question marks need to be cleared off the map 😁

aren't tomboys just women that enjoy masculine activities? what do you mean they're better than women ????

did i not read this corrrectly

Looks like Ryan just didn't write it correctly.

Tomboy isn't a status reserved for adult women. In fact it's a trait more often used to describe children. Adult women can be tomboys too, but I reckon people grow out of tomboyishness or there are more false positives among children. Plus there is a little bit more to it than just liking male activities. It's adopting male behavior and mannerisms in general.

Peach and Daisy are often found at the same events, doing the same activities together, including athletic activities but peach's shy and reserved forlorn attitude and fondness for the color pink puts her further down the girly-girl end of the spectrum than Daisy who is very outgoing energetic and confident.

Peach asks "Oh, did I win?", like she is surprised her her victory in a bid to be modest.
Daisy warns "Here comes Daisy!" like she knows she is going to win ahead of time and too eager to brag about it ahead of time.

Peach wears her hair long. Daisy did too for a while, but it was shortened in more recent years to distinguish her from peach and make her look a little more tomboyish.

Granted, Daisy isn't the most tomboyish character. She has a penchant for girly clothes and jewelry. I am not sure how much of that is attributable to the obligations of her royal status and how much of it is a matter of personal choice. I reckon she didn't have to give her jewelry a flower motif though, whether it is her namesake or not.

However with one character decidedly being meant to be a tomboy, and the other not, spotting the differences between daisy and peach is useful for the purposes of illustration.
