Not sure how much you want to go into the Historical aspect of this but we didn't have berserkers that's a viking thing.

I have a suggestion for a very cheap peasant esque unit armed with staves since during the rebellion a number of our Brythonic cousins in Cornwall and Brittany left their places of work and came to Wales to take up arms against the English, obviously the majority of them lacked combat experience and equipment.

Ouch, a third time would definitely be a blow. I understand you might want to double-dip from one platform to another, that's a common practice, which is why when somebody compared this to Atlus, I wasn't as critical on Atlus. For example, if I bought Persona 5 on PS3 or PS4 and then bought Persona 5 Royal on PS5 or Switch or PC, to me that's a fair and reasonable upgrade. However a scam of this magnitude is absolutely scummy.

I've experienced similar scams before, Dragon Quest XI comes to mind, I never did buy Dragon Quest XI S because of it. Did I get scammed then also? Yes, and while I can still play the old game, I can never play all the extra content without paying full price for the same game again, a loss that I have to live with now. The same thing is repeated here, except Koei Tecmo didn't just one-up Square Enix, they double or triple up it by doing the same thing with all 3 games. They're betting on people being dumb enough to double-dip, that's the whole reason why they're doing this.

Now that console generations is slowly becoming a thing of the past, they can't really cash in on the same product over and over again on multiple platforms as much, so this is their contingency solution. At least most other companies are doing remakes or remasters of their old games, but that requires work on Koei Tecmo, and like you pointed out this game is not old enough, it's just easier to scam people of their money.

I also want to point out other companies also usually offer a variety different paths to upgrade for the original games, including discounts if all else fails. So the very least Koei Tecmo should do here since they already announced there's no path to upgrade, is offer a hefty discount for everyone who already owns the original games. But will they do it? Not likely considering their track record.

well yeah i guess fair point, but it would be interesting to find out that Tully was wrong, and raisining just happens at a shrunken state, but slower in younger ages where (my take) growth hormone surplus would be, delaying the effects due to the body growing to counteract raisining, but surfacing faster when the human body is fully grown and without anything to act against it

Yeah that’s the only thing that makes sense. Anyone with half a brain could figure out it would never sell more than a dozen copies.
