How is console gaming less expensive overall?

The age old argument was always that console gaming is much more affordable, and while the hardware is less expensive, everything else has become a ripoff.

You have to pay 60 bucks yearly just to play online.

GTA V was sold on 3 different console generation for full price.

The Last of Us was sold on 3 different console generation for full price.

The Last of Us Part 2 was also sold for full price first on PS4, than on PS5.

Until Dawn was sold on PS4, and now on PS5 for full price.

God of War 3 was sold on both PS3 and PS4.

Skyrim was sold on 3 different console generations.

Tomb Raider (2013) was sold on PS3/360, and just a year later on PS4/Xbox One for full price.

Resident Evil 4 was sold on Gamecube, than PS2, than on the Wii, than on PS3/360, than on
PS4/Xbox One.

The list goes on and on.

Meanwhile on PC you have regular discounts on Steam and GOG, and free games on Epic.

For example, Canada has tarrifs on certain items. If hardware is tarrifed from another country, this will increase hardware for both pc and consoles. Alot of micro chips from nvidia and amd are not made in the usa also. So those would be tariff upped in prices. Also, did you see the forum post i linked? Your so busy trying to argue about something i never said you probably ignored it.

No it doesn't. If prices go up or down, that effects both console and PC gaming equally. It won't make one cheaper than the other.

True. The price could be the same on both systems.Unless of course AI makes the manufacturing of the hardware or chips more economical. Now please don't bring some other thing about this. I was only stating it as a example.

For example, testing with AI manufacturing could make it think of a alternative method of manufacturing the chips or hardware that was never thought of before.

There is no guarantee that tariffs will increase prices in the US. That's only something that the fake news tries to make a panic about.

Im actually waiting on news for it, as im sure walmart will use it as a excuse to up the price on the switch games, which are already expensive. Im debating if i should buy some games before the end of month in case it happens by next month. If not, well good news.

Just bought Sonic Mania yesterday for ps4 for 10 us dollars. So if you wait, sometimes you can get good prices on games there.If the tariffs happen, im sure i won't find any games that price anymore at walmart.

You have a good point there.

I'd quite forgotten for the moment how crap major companies LOVE to raise prices a bit and then blame it on some scapegoat like that.

I would say go for it with buying those games - if you can eke out the cost, go for it as you can't lose.
