How to deal with people that steal your profile picture and other informations?
Just this little question, a guy took my picture and basicly copied my whole steam profile.

If you think his trying to Impersonate you, then you may have a claim for Steam support
If he just copy things like art that you have on the profile and things like that, i do not think there is much you can do...
But i may be wrong on these

If you don't want your information to be copied, you shouldn't put anything on your profile in the first place.

Nobody needs your permission :dealwithit:.

My whole profile info was copied few months ago, the user was reported by at least 20-30 friends, including one developer. Nothing has been done about it. Unfortunately Hextravert is right. That's why I've set my profile friends-only now.

Wrong, they actually do need permission. And if it is an attempt at impersonating you could contact steam support.
But maybe, if it's just a case of liking what you did, see it as a compliment. You do have a nice profile.

I don't think that copying my Pc specs and adding friends from mine to his FL is a compliment :P

I use a trading site and need an open profile for it.

Why do people keep reporting with friends... its not abut the numbers, its abut what the report was abut...
If you want to report someone for something only the one that was involved (the Profile owner in these case) needs to report, no one else

Also it takes time, but if something wrong happen Valve will take care of it in some point

It dose sound like his trying to Impersonate you, i do recommend you tell your friend if you did not yet that its not you, and also maybe report him then...

Yeah definitely reporting is the way to go. Many scammers and account hijackers will try to use impersonation as a tool to steal from your friends, use your reputation to scam trades, and other nefarious activities.

Try adding rare emoticons/symbols to your name/profile to make it harder for them to copy it without going and purchasing those themselves. If your at a high enough level, add showcases with games and guides that would be difficult to mimic on another user's profile.

BTW this has happened to me by multiple people, it's not so annoying, let your close friends know to be on the lookout for copycats and i'm sure they will support you.
