A tip though: don't bump threads, pretty sure the mods don't like that.
and that's about it.
I don't invite anyone to parties either, in MH2015 sometimes I'm in occasional parties but I never invited or talked with someone in this game. This game don't push me to play with others, I can alone so yeah, great for me.
I've played Planetside 2 and I couldn't play more than 1h. I have Payday 1 because they gifted it but I don't think I would play it with someone else.
The thing is... when I was a child I was always playing games with my brother, in fact, all the games were coop games and these kind of things but I've stopped to do it. It's not like something related to my brother or anything, but I don't enjoy playing games with others anymore. Just sometimes with my brother, but he is usually busy. >_>
I tend to be annoyed while playing with others so yeah, I prefer to be alone. And sometimes there's some guys that say to me "hey, do you wanna play X game?" (mostly it's: I'M playing the game while your lvling doing nothing >_> but well, they're acquaintances of my parents so I can't say much or avoid them) and I feel annoyed anyway.
As I've said, I don't have any problem playing games with my brother or parents but I prefer to play alone though.
Same about chatting with others in private chats and all, I prefer to leave a comment in forums than talking personally with someone.
If I had to pick one, though, it would be LAN, multiplayer, big team battles, preferably with a lot of awesome military hardware, and some good friends who know how to operate as a unit. BF2142 or something like that, preferably with my brothers or some Marines.
Co-op I love when it is "in person" co-op, either split screen or LAN party style, especially when booze gets involved. Woot! Those are some seriously fun times!
PvP Hell no! Even the best of friends get pizzed at eachother when it comes to Versus stuff or you find out about that one friend that takes competition WAYYYYYY too seriously, and that is never fun.
I don't usually play ARPGs like Diablo or 3D-equivalents like Borderlands or Warframe with others either because people tend to rush these games like stupid. No time for nothing in them. Way to spoil my experience.
PvP games I used to play a lot. Not so much anymore. They can be frustrating if people don't care for fairplay or if design imbalances put you in a disadvantage. They still hold some points though. Fighting against humans is always unique and different. You can play the same map in the same game a million times and it may still be fun just because you don't know for sure what you will get. Co-op or singleplayer games on the other hand get repetitive and boring more quickly. PvP games seem to sell the longest and best - combined with mictrotransactions (as is often the case in F2P games) makes for the most attractive of what a publisher can do if it's all about the money.
Other than that, KF is fun with randoms, L4D is fun with friends, and Saints Row the third in coop with my friend was one of the funniest gaming experience I had in a long time.
Idk about your friend, maybe he prefers to play alone with you and not the rest of your friends or certain people? I also barely send invites when gaming, except to my closest friends.
So...I played WoW solo. I played Diablo3 solo. I play 7 Days to Die solo. etc. I prefer single-player games so it makes me sad they're less and less common. :)
My husband and I will play games LAN together sometimes and have lots of fun...but that's because we're very in tune with each other etc. Strangers on the 'net...I don't usually have the patience.
Most my friends are off work at the same time my son gets out of school. He has prirority. When he is older, then I may play more co-op games as he can play them with me. A home grown, gaming buddy. :-P
My preferance is for solo as I enjoy the stories involved and can go at my own speed.
I play PUG in most of the games, simply because i do not care to make my entertainment dependent on other people and their schedule. Likewise i want to be able to just exit a game when i feel like it.
Playing with friends comes with the expectation to actually finish the game, and while there are some games i would like to play with other people, the actual desire to play with other people is rather rare for me.
And yes, playing games in co-op is more fun, as everything is more fun with friends. So its not like i don't understand it. I just don't care for the responsibility that comes along with it. Such as having to have time, having to need to play start to finish and everything. Its just a drag to think about. But as with going out (i am the same about that) once i am out, i am actually having a blast, but when i am thinking of going out, it seems such a nuisance.
Co-op gaming with friends is the same. I enjoy it when i do it, but i have to make appointments for it, or i'll never do it, because its such a drag.
