Profile backgrounds zoomed in?

Hello!
I'm using a 1600x900 screen so obviously the backgrounds on steam profiles are not quite the full size as they should be. Now if i use a 1080p i can of course see the full wallpaper. Is there any way for someone like me who use a 1600x900 screen or lower that will be able to see wallpapers in their full screen res?

Unfortunately it seems they never added any scaling, but it does make sense though in the way they made profiles.
There's no scaling with the actual profile area, and some backgrounds are designed to work around the profile area at the current scale.

This means if they scaled backgrounds different sizes, some of them would look bad and mis-alligned with the profile. On the other hand they could scale parts of the profile down but that would then look strange, and probably be a lot of work to get right. In this case it's just simpler to keep everything one size.

I really wish i could do the CTRL + Z thing like you can do in a prefered browser. I use Google Chrome and i can just click CTRL + Z and mousewheel too see the wallpaper good enough. Obviously the text gets smaller but you know. I dont mind that.

I agree it would be nice as an option, perhaps some day. But searching "zoom" in suggestions brings up many times that it has been suggested, so it's likely they are aware of a request, and either haven't got around to it or don't intend to add it.
