Anyone else just stare at their Steam library for hours on end?
Do you feel like you have absolutely nothing to play despite having dozens if not hundreds of games in your Steam library? When every game just feels boring and you don't have anything fun to do outside games either? Yeah. I've probably wasted 250 hours of my life just staring at my Steam library wondering what I want to do but not wanting to do anything. Launching games just to instantly close them to continue staring at your Steam library.

I just buy games to collect them, not play them. I love to stare at my collection of thousands of games across three accounts, it makes me feel good knowing I have so much money to burn that I buy thousands of games I'll never play just for the hell of it. But yeah in all honesty my problem is that between over seven thousand games on steam and 2500 on xbox one and series x I have a hard time choosing what game to play 95 percent of the time.
I got the opposite trouble. I often have 3 or so games I want to play at once.

I think it is pretty normal, if you have to force yourself to play something don’t even bother with it at all. I would recommend you to stay off Steam/Epic/Origin… for a while and find something more enjoyable outside of gaming. Or maybe it is because you have way too many games and can’t commit to play just one and enjoy the experience.

Problem is there is absolutely nothing I enjoy besides eating fast food which is expensive and unhealthy so I can't even do that.

Been trying to find a new hobby for years now but everything sucks.

Sorry I didn't see the response since the topic was moved. I’m no expert on that matter but if gaming is no fun for you at this moment you clearly need to make some changes and find something else besides food and games.
If you feel you are wasting your time looking at your steam library, use that time to do something more productive. Maybe not as much fun but you get a sense of accomplishment and did something useful with your time. Read a book, learn a new language, exercise, clean, socialize… set yourself some personal goals, do 20 to 30 minutes every day to break your routine.

Best of luck, mate
I play one game at a time. Yeah i do spend hrs thinking what to play after that since i have growing backlogs on uplay, egs & gog. I sometimes tend to play the same game more than once.
Same problem to a console player with many game cartridges or a reader with many books. :erune:
When bored, just find some friends and chit chat or do something special! Like cook up a great meal!

Staring at a friends list or a recipe list isn't different either, Irene!!!

No, I go here:

It's what I hoped Valve would create for the steam library, instead they just made it a confusing mess. If you like it donate, I'd hate to see that page disappear.
If you don't want to play a game you don't have to do it.
If you do want to play but can't decide use a random wheel, throw dice or just go clear the least played / backlog.

I'm 40 now. I've spent a good chunk of spare time since 1988 gaming. Now I've got about 20 years of life left, I am very much aware of how a lot of games are not really designed for short burst of interaction. I've put a couple of hundred hours into some of my favourite games over the years, and some of the early MMO's (Neocron) claimed months of my life.

However now, time is precious and I can't bring myself to waste it. Plus, really, at my stage, I've seen it all and done it all in gaming. When you strip back the fancy outfit, often it's just the same core game as hundreds of others. Go here, get that, do this, do that. I also no longer waste time on stories / intros / cutscenes. I skip everything I can skip because I don't have time to waste.

Sigh.
Not literally but yeah.
Same here... :thT_T:
Recently though, I switched to using Small Mode and I rarely ever stare at my library, so I suggest doing that and getting to do more of something else without being distracted by eyecandy.
Not really, I have a big library, but usually I have a number of games I play for a while and others in a queue.

Thanks to stupidity, I have many greenlight games I will never play, but that was my mistake, I take responsibility for it, and try to learn to make better decisions.
