Would Valve answer back if you mailed them?
So i had a class project that we had to mail a letter to a buisness we liked out of my nature i sent a letter to valve. It's been about a week and we are getting alot of stuff from the diffrent companies my class mates sent too. Well i am asking this because we get extra credit if the respond back in any form. So anybody think they will or won't respond back?:steamhappy:

It's 3 am in my place and I worked in paint shop straight for 6 hours now.

Which is probably the reason why I read this threads title as "Would Valve answer if you blackmailed them?"

Time to hit the sack, definitely. ^^

I think they may, depending what you send them
If you try to blackmail them I guess not :D:
But I can see it likely the they will if they get it

One of my friends sent a message to Valve for a personal reason that I won't tell, but they did respond in around 2 weeks, so it is possible.

I sent them a somewhat big document on numerous improvements and fixes they could do to/for the Steam community. But there was no money in it for them, so I guess they weren't interested.
Never got anything back anyway.

I have tried to contact Valve for a few reasons, but where is their email? I understand they probably can't post it to the open, but if someone has their email and could tell me, that would be great. Thanks!

General Valve contact addresses: http://www.valvesoftware.com/contact/

Individual peoples contact addresses: http://www.valvesoftware.com/company/people.html

But Steam issues should go via support.

Almost certainly yes. It may take some time but ive seen plenty of people write to valve and got a reply. Just dont ask for hl3.

Because that's what the Suggestions/Ideas forum is for. And what did you expect besides your standard "thanks, we'll look into it"?

Valve rarely check the forums.
Sending it to the guys in charge as opposed to posting it there and then it getting filled with spam and stupid posts.
I know which option I prefer.

How do you know? Valve rarely posts in the forums.
The forums are a place for discussions and what you deeme beneficial for the community might not be what most of the community wants. That's why stuff should be brought here. Maybe it even already got discussed and had an actual or implicit answer from Valve you are not aware of (most of the suggestions are just regurgitated anyway). Maybe you are not aware of a function you ask for already existing.
Make a thread, discuss a proposition there and if the feedback is positive it might get picked up by them and incorporated sometime.
There is a place for everything and suggestions and ideas for improvements belong into the forums. Even Steam support redirects you there.

If you instead write an exhaustive list about things you don't like and send it to a business or general information address - unasked for - don't wonder why you never receive an answer. Most likely it went straigth to the round file, unread.

Careful, I'm no rookie, I'm a 10 year vet.

I've used these forums enough. They may appear once or twice on the market forum but there is money for them to be had there.
