Which is probably the reason why I read this threads title as "Would Valve answer if you blackmailed them?"
Time to hit the sack, definitely. ^^
If you try to blackmail them I guess not
But I can see it likely the they will if they get it
Never got anything back anyway.

General Valve contact addresses: http://www.valvesoftware.com/contact/
Individual peoples contact addresses: http://www.valvesoftware.com/company/people.html
But Steam issues should go via support.
Because that's what the Suggestions/Ideas forum is for. And what did you expect besides your standard "thanks, we'll look into it"?
Sending it to the guys in charge as opposed to posting it there and then it getting filled with spam and stupid posts.
I know which option I prefer.
How do you know? Valve rarely posts in the forums.
The forums are a place for discussions and what you deeme beneficial for the community might not be what most of the community wants. That's why stuff should be brought here. Maybe it even already got discussed and had an actual or implicit answer from Valve you are not aware of (most of the suggestions are just regurgitated anyway). Maybe you are not aware of a function you ask for already existing.
Make a thread, discuss a proposition there and if the feedback is positive it might get picked up by them and incorporated sometime.
There is a place for everything and suggestions and ideas for improvements belong into the forums. Even Steam support redirects you there.
If you instead write an exhaustive list about things you don't like and send it to a business or general information address - unasked for - don't wonder why you never receive an answer. Most likely it went straigth to the round file, unread.
I've used these forums enough. They may appear once or twice on the market forum but there is money for them to be had there.
