This was still a bit vague to me as there are servers that don't have any rules stated at all, but I see people bumping the hell out of their posts there.
So if I understand it correctly, a group CAN have it's own rules and therefor allow bumping after all?
If it's a trade group, chances are all people care about is legitimate trading, not so much bumping, but if you abuse it the group could punish/remove/ban you for doing anything to abuse being bumped to the top constantly.
Use common sense. Don't bump often, and if there's no interest let the thread die. If you're the only one posting in a thread, then chances are no one's interested and you move on to trying something else. No one wants to see a thread with 3-7 posts in a row, especially bumps, from one individual.
I seriously wonder what you partake in before posting on the forums...
Thank you for your reply, yes I was specifically talking about steam groups and not game hubs, I won't bump there. It's mainly about CS:GO trading and their game hub says you can make a post every hour.
It says no bumping. So if you see trading threads where people are doing it, that means THEY are breaking the rules, and it just means that people haven't had the time or inclination to go through it. It does NOT mean it's legitimate.
So what to do? DONOT BUMP.
It's very simple.
OR you could join dedicated trading sites, just be cautious. I know some places have user feedback reputation system but it's up to you to trust that.
The most that would happen is a ban from a specific group or forum. Even then you would be warned first.
Steam groups may apply some of the rules more leniently than the others, especially trading groups. I would not worry a bit about bumped threads on a trading group.
That's a critical hit right there but the answer seems pretty spot on.
Unless somebody is rapidly spamming their own post to bump it the mods aren't going to ban them. Worst case scenario they'll get a ban on the forum.
Again, I responded with I have a X card set and want to trade for Y card set.
It's typically stated as, "Have: X-card(s), Want: Y-card(s)"
It's a little common sensey, and at the time I was in a mood for something hot 🔥 spicy and I did an hot-spicy example. Hence, my hot spicy food example.
I suppose to understand that, one must mingle with actual humans via "outside"
you know, FYI
And again, my suggestion is doing a forum search to narrow-down, over bumping and hoping for a reply.
