Remember that mbps is different then MB/s.

Steam uses the second.

Did you go into "Settings" and click "Downloads" and click "Throttle downloads while streaming?"

You need too learn the conversion factor
it drops by 150mbps and it give me 21mb/s
it should give me 18.75 mb/s
less than 21 so it is innacuarate and a bandwith hog.
if it was truly accuarte and using all those megabytes per second
my games wouldnt take that long too download.

I have only 200 kb/s ._.

I have the same problem. I have a 150 Mb/s (18.75 MB/s) connection. When Steam is downloading or updating a game, it never goes higher than 1.1 MB/s and I can't use internet anymore. Websites will load slow, streaming video like YouTube or Twitch will just drop dead. Limited Steam to take no more than 3 MB/s, still the same problem. When I pause the download in Steam, everything goes back to normal again.

TL;DR can't use the internet when Steam is downloading something.

excacty it takes far too much bandwidth

upgrade your network equipement to better stuff or configure it properly if possible. Steam does not take too much bandwidth, it simply uses an awful lot of connections, that is not bandwidth, that is simply too much to handle for bad/misconfigured network equipment.

i do a lot with networks and i have a way better corporate level connection, 2gbit synchro, which Steam btw is capable of saturating, so 250megabyte per second of download speed on Steam is possible.

i just say how it most likely is, since you most likely have standard endconsumer hardware provided by your isp or blindly bought on a lower budget. some of these stuff cannot handle too many parallel connections and some of these stuff even identifies Steam trying to download something as an attack and simply blocks it off. so either configure your router/modem properly or upgrade to a better model.

and thanks for insulting me for no reason.
