It's not subjective, we're not in the ocean. We're talking about Steam. Steam is a platform, and it has it's numbers on everything: sales, refunds, positive/negative reviews, current online players, min/max players on specific time line, etc... Steam won't use data from internet forums or other platforms to form it's view on statistics like "20th anniversary".
Who told you I don't like my examples? What are you even talking about? I said stop focusing on two titles I've pointed in this discussion, and using them as an argument.
Yes, I distinguish such things.
And the games used in the 20th anniversary are simply example games of their "top games by gross revenue" lists. So, top sellers, not necessarily top games.
I didn't say you didn't like your examples. I said "if you don't like your examples used". As in, you used those two games as examples, then obviously a response will also use those examples you brought up.
If you don't like people talking about something you yourself mentioned, don't bring it up.
Okay, enough of this, you clearly don't see my point, you're just another "you're not right user", just tell me what makes FIFA23 "Top Game" in this list, and that's it.
And don't forget to take into account that header shows "TOP GAMES RELEASED IN 2022"
FIFA 23/Initial release date
September 27, 2022
You pretty clearly have no idea what youre youre on about and are just airing out a non-facvt based opinion.
I havent owned a FIFA game since 1994.
Another one "you're not right, just because you're not right". Why are you even here...
You really think that if you googled some data, and then copy pasted it in some random steam discussion, will make you feel better irl or what?
First of all, I don't care how many copies were sold. Because you clearly have no idea what this thread is about. Show me STEAM numbers only, stop throwing your "copies sold" bomb here and there. PS4/5, Xbox One, Xbox series X/S, Stadia each one of this platforms has it's own statistics, top games, top sellers and etc. Now about PC, we have Steam, EGS, EA app, each one has it's own numbers as well.
I'm not stupid and I know that FIFA23 released in 2022, and I typed this:
To show people like you, that Steam's 20th anniversary is not about "top sellers" it's about "top games released in xxxx". So now shut up and go outside your brain must be O2 hungry.
This discussion is not about who likes what, there're a lot of games filled with blood in this list.
It's about why this list filled with random ♥♥♥♥ games that don't have good sales/reviews !!!!ON STEAM!!!, and are not supposed to be there, when there are much better alternatives. You must understand that events like this directly affect sales, it's like free Advertisement.
Still not a top game for me since neither of the above parameters are relevant for me in that.
Buy Valve uses gross revenue to compile their lists. Which is also why such lists will always be both logical in a way and illogical in another way.
they might be free, but they got there because of in-game purchases
Not you are Valve's customer, the publishers are (technically you are the product, your reaction proves that) and they won't kick their most valued clients in the shin. It's their business and they can do as they fit.
Who even gives a damn about a random list?
vampire survivors is dirt cheap.
elden ring was not bought on Steam by ~25% of its owners, which is quite much considering most retail buyers bark at the place where they bought it, not where they play it, so that number is probably higher, so even less copies sold on Steam.
fifa and nba have mtx, which are underestimated as always. reality is, fifa packs are more than half of EAs entire annual profit ... just fifa packs.
