and seeing not Controller and not Index or even the Link ever sold here offisally I dont think its likely to happen soon
I got the Link, Controller and Index Controllers in outhrr ways but it is a real pain they cant even let us ship it and all by our self even that I do understand why
It's mostly down to banal things like legal restrictions, and partners and so on. Rules and regulations too.
For example, if I were to release a book on something and I wanted to sell it internationally, I would obviously likely go into partnership with some publisher who would do the heavy lifting as far as distribution.
BUt that would likely either be in certain regions where they operate. If I wanted to sell to a certain country they do not, then I'd likely have to find another publisher, or maybe my own method of storage and distribution for that country too.
You need to think about what actually happens to the goods to give you an idea of what's involved.
So, with a Steam Deck you'd order it from Valve. Valve would then pass the order to wherever it's warehoused, and they would pick the order, and get it loaded to dispatch to you. This might be by lorry or ship or air, and then by ground mail.
So you can see from that you have partners in whoever warehouses and picks the orders (and who makes the goods and sends it to THEM in the first place). You have possibly dealings with a haulage company and maybe mail services thereon.
On top of any publishing and legal requirements on top.
So when Valve get these things sorted out, then they can do it, basically.
I assume not doing it now as they will lose some profit from reseller
If you IMPOR or buy overseas and have it shipped or posted that doesn't involve any local distribution. That's just YOU going through regular mail.
When you deliver EN MASSE to a certain country you do get organization like this - regional partners otherwise it gets stupid expensive.
So Valve would likely need things as I said. Not always but the point is it's more than meets the eye.
Any way you could also try to push the rich companys to ask Valve to open that option
Again, they need to line ALL these ducks up.
On the positive side, once all the leg work is don't for this generation, I don't foresee as long of a delay for future generation of decks, since logistics and software would already be established.
iraq , pakistan , afghanistan are the last ones which i have no idea about them
