As it says clearly on the store page - it was removed at the request of the publisher.

That's all you're going to know.
because the publisher or developers removed it from sales and will be closing down the multiplayer servers in a near future.

my guess is the game probably din't sell very well.

Because Jump Force is shutting down. The publisher requested it be removed.

Most likely the licensing for all those characters expired and it wouldn't be worth the cost of renewing them. It's the same reason why Forza games get taken down after a few years with their licensed cars and music.

At least in this case the publisher made it very clear in advance that they were taking it down and it was on a deep discount twice before it was delisted. A lot of the time games can disappear without warning.

Because of this, the game was removed at the pub's request.

Because it was a commercial failure, a massive one. An all time peak of less than 10k players? This is just terrible.

In comparison, this game:

Currently over 40k players. All time peak of 77k.

What kind of comparison is this btw? The game has about 10 times as much players sure. But it only costs a 20th fraction of what Jump Force costs...

Any of those games on the list has had a higher peak in the last 24 hours than Jump Force ever had since its release.

For a fighting game with relatively niche anime theme 10k isn't even bad, MKX peaked at 13k.

That's not how things are guaged at all.

You don't know the development costs, the licensing costs, the advertising costs or even the projection they had for the game.

If it failed accroding to THIER metrics, that's all that matters. And it did.

Popular games being popular is a reason or explanation for what exactly?
10k sales is considered a success for many indie studios. Across platforms.

Of course you can, as you always can with any game that gets delisted in the majority of cases.

But what's the point when at least part of it gets shut down?

true, probably collecting for game collectors or 1v1 battle with a friend.

Yeah, judging by the OPs post they were implying at least the onlibne component.
