Read this official statement from Valve:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1266-OAFV-8478&l=
nobody "from Steam" will ever contact you about anything, especially not in any chat and especially not in discord.
TRUST NO ONE.
"But Unca.Alby, how can I trust what you're saying about trusting no one if I can't trust you?"
Now you're starting to get it.
Not even real Valve employees will contact you about anything to do with your account.
Any and all official communication is done through the support system, which has its own message channel in Steam that users have no access to.
Also, they don't initiate communication from their end, as far as I know: for example, they don't tell you "we'll ban you soon", they'll just do it. Support is always about YOU contacting them first, and they are replying.
Community messages (as example for revoked keys) are displayed in the client, unmistakable in the header with "account message". Same counts for bans or other stuff which can be found under "community messages"
