Then make room?
Am I the only one who finds the notion of "I want to little money and not inconvenience me for my girlfriend. Also I don't want to ask her what she wants to play." a bit off?
For one, you should never run your PC's drive to that extent/ It not only is asking for both Windows and Steam to start behaving badly, but it's an awful idea to have all that data on your PC with it not backed up.
Which is the real point here - back your stuff up!
A cheap DVD burner can be bought for less than £20. I bought one a few months ago (and yes, I know your monetary situation, but I'm on disability benefits PERMANENTLY only).
You really should get in the practice of doing that, not just to free that space up and keep everything running well (note that the Steam drive should have NO MORE THAN 90% used), but also it means you don't lose stuff when your drive dies.
We do get a lot of posts on these forums from people who say things like "help! I can't download games" or "they're not installing properly" and it's because they've overused their drive.
Best of luck.
Well, I can't fault just something like a cheap burner.
I was without a PC of any sort for a few years until February this year. Had to get one and was surprised how damned cheap they were.
Personally I get a bit over zealous with backups, mostly because I hang onto stuff for years. I have backups of game saves from all sorts of consoles and computers going back years that I dip into from time to time.
I don't recommend Peaceful or Creative mode, but Survival on easy difficulty is pretty easy-going and relaxing without becoming boring.
