But yes, iDeal can sometimes be horribly slow. I often prefer using iDeal with Paypal and then using Paypal to pay Steam; in many cases this is a lot faster.
There was some changes by the payment provider's site which required an updated Chromium some time ago. Might be that Steam still haven't updated.
A work around is that sometimes they give an QR code you can scan with your mobile to pay.
But it is strange steam wait so very long to fix this issue
Also keep in mind that problem can have more causes that just the payment provider itself. There's also your Internet connection for example.
But generally speaking: if you finished a successful transaction through iDeal then this will eventually also get registered with Steam. Sometimes it can take a long time but this isn't necessarily Steam's fault (though sometimes it obviously can be whenever their servers are bogged, like with the sale right now).
Just for context sake: I grabbed some games today using iDeal and had no issues what so ever.

Point being: if you're having problems for over half a year you should verify your own setup because then I'm convinced that you're having local problems.
Do not use the steam app / steam client!
Go to a browser, like internet explorer / firefox / chrome,
Go to steam website and login there:
there is also a store there!
That one works fine
Used to work fine from the client.
This makes me think the issues are related to the "browser" the steam app is using internally. It is probably not compatible anymore with the IDEAL or bank websites.
i have a Game code from another country that i allready Paid for.
Please let me activate this gamecode in my Country. Make it possible . i have spend 100 and 100 and maybe 1000 of Euros/Dollars in games on steam. i´m really pissed. should i change and spend my Money in the future to other Game Platforms like Epic Games or else?
