Steam switches language

So since yesterday my steam switches to Dutch whenever im in-game. Im German so my prefered language is obviously German and thats also what my steam settings are telling me but even if i change my language to for example English and then back to German the issue still appears after opening the steam overlay. Today i tried to find a solution in the internet and logged into steam with my browser and guess what, everything was written in Dutch... Btw stuff like library, friends or games (so basically the stuff in the top left corner) are still in German but stuff like "search" is written in Dutch.

help would be appreciated

most of these either have no answers, are completely off-topic or (still rarely) have people saying that you have to go to your steam settings and then restart it. didnt work for me though (as already mentioned), it still changes to Dutch at some point of time.

some search results for Steam on google f.e. include ?l=language parameter in the link, they will make default website language change.

if you browse Steam mostly in your normal webbrowser, consider looking into enhancedsteam addon, it has some features regarding the used language on Steam, like this: https://i.imgur.com/X9qD6Gt.png
