Money substracted from bank account - no game
Great, I bought a game and the money got substracted from my bank account yet I did not receive the game in my library. Never had this happen before. Does someone know what to do now?

So a standard evening during the Steam sales then...

EDIT: I would guess you would need to open a support ticket with Valve, or it could be a delay and the game will eventually pop into your library.

Check your transaction history. If it failed; the money is on hold and will be returned to your bank account in a few working days. Probably best not to attempt any purchases right now as the Steam servers are garbage.
My transaction history says: pending. I'll wait it out for a bit and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
what if the game not even in the transaction history apear?

It will either go through as normal or fail. If it does do the latter; don't worry as the money is on hold and it will be retutned to your bank but you will need to do the purchase again so you could be out of pocket twice the amount until the original funds get automatically returned. Bit of a pain when this happens but it's pretty rare. If the Steam Store is having problems like it has; best to avoid trying to purchase things to be on the safe side and avoid headaches like this.

I found this on the support page:

This purchase is pending while Steam attempts to collect payment.
Note: Purchases through iDEAL can take up to 2 hours to complete. If your bank account has been charged and you do not have access to the game in your library, please feel free to contact Steam Support for assistance.
When this purchase completes and Steam collects payment, Steam will email you a receipt and the product will be added to your library.
If the purchase should fail, Steam will email you a link that will let you try your purchase (with the discount) again for up to 72 hours.
So if its stated "pending" in the the purchase history then its just a case of a slow server? Because my bank already debited the money from my account

My situation is even more precarious because I made a split payment from both my bank account and my Steam wallet. My bank account has been charged, but my Steam wallet hasn't. Oh dear, oh dear.

This basically means if the game was in a sale and the discount ended whilst the transaction was pending. The rest suggests waiting around two hours to see what happens. If it does fail; inform support but you'll probably just need to try the purchase again from the link that is sent.
Luckily the problem solved itself.

Just as an FYI:
iDeal is a payment provider. This means they will pay the store out of their pockets and get the amount back from you. What happened is that iDeal already collected the money but Steam hasn't received theirs yet. That's why they haven't deducted the rest from your wallet yet either.

How did it solve itself did it just appear in the library?
and how long did it take?

The thread you responded to is three years old, I wouldn't expect the people to be active still, but it's always possible.

If you're having the same issues (I do) then it's usually best to start a new thread and ask your questions. Or... limit your searches and don't include ancient ones like these.

My take: contact Steam support, they'll sort it out.

Of course I can't be sure I had the same problem as you do now, but remember I just had to wait it out... doing nothing. Didn't take longer than a couple of hours. Probably some payment traffic that got clogged up. Only time this ever happened to me.

Aha, U is Dutch :) Hetzelfde hier ;)

Would I be correct to assume that you used iDeal back then as well? It's known to have a long response time, even up to 2 - 3 hours (I have to wonder what poor shoddy payment provider Valve is using).

I don't think your issue is the same. iDeal is known to take its time, but right now you see issues where Steam claims that the purchase failed while your bank account shows that the money got deducted. I'm currently experience the same thing myself, though I'm not worried for now because I'm confident that support will sort this out.

... hopefully they'll also dump their current payment provider for iDeal!
