Looking for a sci-fi isometric Diablo style game
Does a game exist that hits these marks?

Isometric
sci-fi (basically guns of any sort)
real time or RTWP
single character
rpg (I get to set up my own character and choose skills/spells/talents/etc)
Diablo style run-and-gun action

I'm having trouble thinking of a strictly scifi game in the ARPG category. But here's a few options:

Seven: Enhanced edition is probably the closest. More crossbows rather than guns, but a scifi / post-apocalypse environment.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is close... Half the skill tree is focused on gunplay, but It's a scifi / fantasy blend. Probably closer to a steampunk sort of feel.

Certain character types in Grim Dawn would fit the bill, but it's got more of a western / post-apocalyptic vibe.

There's also a free demo-like version called Synthetik Arena

It's real-time and isometric, you're a robot fighting other robots, there's tons of different and cool weapons, it's singleplayer (but also has co-op) and there's multiple classes you can play as with different weapons you can pick at the start, as well as challenge modifiers to make the game harder (or easier)

It's not sci-fi, but I highly recommend Malus (Early Access, so fair warning). It's a surprisingly solid game though, and has hints of Dark Souls added in it. Otherwise, you could call Malus Diablo 4 and I would believe it.
oo, nice one with the Malus.

Dear OP - here's one for ya

The best ones I know of have mostly been mentioned here already with one exception.

It's not bad by any means. It plays more like Diablo than say, XCOM does, or Wasteland. But in spirit, it's similar to Wasteland.

I also echo that Shdowgrounds, and Greed Black Border aren't bad at all. They're very much indie games and once you've done the campaign there isn't much else to do. Unlike Diablo.

Perhaps my favourite are the three Alien Breed outings. They're essentially more twin stick shooters but they are very good indeed and play rather well. I couldn't care less about the story myself though. It's meh.
