Anybody know?
When you buy a bundle of keys on something like Fanatical dot com, does Steam get a cut from that, or is that all going to Fanatical / the developer?

Much curious, need answers.

Thanks.

Steam gives out every Steam key for free to the product owner, so that they can use them for pretty much whatever they want.

The important part here is to stick to legit key stores. Buying from grey market stores meanign the developer gets no money whatsoever. In fact, those cost the developer money which lead to an indie dev speaking against G2A (I bet the forum censors it because talking about things is about as evil, as advertising them, right?) as they're worse than piracy.

Stores like these either obtain keys in bulk from the developer or sell them on their behalf whilst taking a cut on the proceeds. All Steam does is provide the key..

Valve only provide keys for Steam games. Everything else is handed by the developer. Valve only knows of the keys the developer told them about.

That's actually why I wanted to know. Because I'm not sure If I can buy thing directly on the store anymore because of that. I get censoring curse words. I get banning links form particular websites. But to ban the very name of them, is going too far for me. That, and the mods they choose tend to be quick with warnings over basically nothing, and are quick to lock and remove threads, too quick for my liking.

I'm not for anarchy, I'm not saying they shouldn't censor anything. But as is, I'm not sure I feel comfortable putting any money in Steam's pocket. I'll have to really think about it. But it's good to know I can go to trusted places like Fanatical and still get good deals. The majority of their keys are Steam keys, that's why it matters.

As a rule of thumb, the moment a business is legit, you can be sure all parties involved agree. That's kinda the definition of "legit".
