It's turn based same as other games like Final Fantasy Tactics
Rook is one of the two main characters the story revolves around, and he is a hunter, so plenty of archery involved.
I've started Trails of Cold Steel for now, though I'm not yet sold on the world. Then again haven't played much of it, but it's of course not the kind of fantasy setting I'm looking for. It does look interesting though and combat seems fun. So far the one of the few characters I havent been able to try out yet is the bow girl though xD
I owned it already so makes it easier to pick up, but I'm definitely going to try more of the suggested titles in here :D Again, thanks all for your suggestions, much appreciated :D

Although none use bows, they are good turn based combat games
Epic Battle Fantasy 3 is free
EBF 4 is awesome, haven't tried the 5, all of them are mainly made by one dude.
Darklands is great game. It's very old but a classic. Medieval Germany folklore. 4 character party including a neat character generation process for different occupations including hunter types. It is turn-based enough.
There are also a lot of D&D classics like the Temple Of Elemental Evil.
GOG is another place to look for older turn-based stuff.
