Spotify in Steam

Hey guys, I have noticed that Spotify has been integrated into chatting with steam. When sharing a song to chat you can see an integrated player. The question is how can we log in Spotify ?

If you're sharing a spotify song, you're probably just seeing an embedded player due to meta info.

Same thing with YT links, they display as the web embedded versions (since the chat is web based).

Exactly, you send a link, nothing else. Theres no logging in, the link is the only information there is.

what you talking about, information lol. You can listen the demo song dude, you can play that, you have some functions there like share or see the image of song

I told you, it is nothing more than Spotify's embedded player.

You share a link, Steam tries to pull relative data about it and give a description. If the site returns some form of embed, Steam will show that.

No. Because I know there is no actual Spotify integration here. If there was, we wouldn't be having the constant suggestion thread about Spotify integration.

That's the embedded preview of the URL / page.

It's similar with YT links, where you see a full description of the YouTube video and the thumbnail chosen by the content creator.

Spotify has not been integrated on the Steam Chat, thus you cannot log in at all.

Don't be misinformed—or perhaps, rather; don't misinterpret what you saw.

for spotify it is not the standard link preview, valve does a bit of parsing there and embeds their player .. but that is not integration and imo kinda useless and bloaty.
