Market confirmations no longer needed?!
partly (and no news from Valve)

it seems that listings under ~50 usd cent threshold ± some item metrics can be listed without confirmation.
most items went through without confirmation, when the buyer price was under ~50 usd cent

as i don't use usd, can someone confirm that?

All the way up to $0.99 without confirmations.

$1.00 started asking again.

These are CS:GO cases and skins I tried.

Just put two cards up on the market.

One I put up for $0.63 didnt require confirmation
One I put up for $0.19 still did....

The biggest problem arises when an account either becomes compromised or someone mistypes and adds an item for a wrong price. I mean, common sense would be used, but it'd still suck accidentally selling something for 3 cents over 30.

Anyone get the pop up for the "Relaxed market confirmations?" I missed it while in game.

Edit: Found it...

Relaxed Confirmation Requirements
OCTOBER 3 - DRUNKEN F00L

We shipped a change earlier today to reduce the number of cases confirmation is required to list an item on the market. Items that typically sell for under $1.00 USD will no longer require confirmation when the list price is reasonably within the median price, but confirmation will still be required once many of those cheaper items are listed. Confirmation will still be required on all rare and valuable items.

We'll be watching for any problems with this change, and make adjustments if needed.

So by sounds of it if I attempt to sell my knife and accidently put in 60 cent then it would still want confirmation. That's good. I was very vary at first reading this thread.

Nice to see Valve making use of their new announcement button on the Steam Client by still not communicating crucial changes happening on the platform that are the interest of gamers.

in a place that was 4 years unused

it is not like this is no biggie, this makes attacking hoarder accounts with malware interesting. sell their cheap crap, buy expensive cheap listsystem item that scammer placed and money gone, no confirmation on victim required.

i made 50 listings in about 2 minutes while testing this. it did not give the impression a confirmation was triggered because of that.
well, whatever. will be surely amusing not have to confirm half of the items "randomly" on items with low market quantity and transactions.

do covert items/knives/gloves also need confirmation? for example, if someone has malicious intents and decides to sell it for 3cents from someone's account

Items that have a high median price history will need to be confirmed I believe.

the historical recent median selling price of the item needs to be under a dollar ± 10 cent. otherwise it will require confirmations.
there is also a threshold in terms of how many items per certain period you can list. if that is breached, it requires confirmations again.
