Are there IRC servers dedicated to Steam?
As I am growing unsatisfied with the fact, that I cannot chat with users, who are not my friends, I'd like to consider external ways to exchange a few words without the need to leave public profile comments or pretending to be friends with people, who don't even count as acquaintance.
IRC seems like the most obvious and common solution, I think.
As I do not assume, that Valve provides its own public servers, yet would not like to drag others into the stuff, I hang around at at times, I am wondering, if there are non-game-specific servers set up by parts of the Steam community, that are widely (or as widely as it gets with IRC a few years after its heyday) accepted as a common meeting place.
Basicly, I'll end up idleing without joining a chatroom anyhow, but I'd like to do so in the right place. ;-)

P.S.: Sorry for asking in here, but when searching the internet for Steam + IRC, I end up with tax forms.

I:steamhappy: want a mIRC way. A mIRC -Steam- Server. A dedicated steam server, maybe a public one as well. I want to run mIRC with Steam and without as just a chat. :steammocking: A mIRC BNC or a random ircBot would be fine as well.

Steam Groups exist.

They server this exact purpose.
