Co-op games to play with girlfriend (that doesn't passionate about games)
She likes good-looking games, where you see where to go next, with casual action part and some logic/collecting gameplay elements. See her restrictions below.

Games that are NOT ALLOWED:
- primitive graphics (like Ultimate Chicken Horse)
- isometric top-down view (like Magicka, Torchlight)
- big/open world (like Borderlands)
- Hack&Slash only (like Castle Crushers)
- Shooter only (like Killing Floor)
- 1-button games (like BADLAND)

Games that we played and she liked them:
- Trine 1/2/3
- Portal 2
- Rayman

Going to give a chance to:
- Guacamelee
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
- Human: Fall Flat
- Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
- Saints Row 3

PS: Do not advice to change girlfriend :D

Is she okay with shmups? A good number of them, such as Jamestown and Raiden III, have co-op modes.

Sadly no :(
There are 2 problems with shmups:
- rarely anything to do except shooting
- mostly primitive/pixel graphics

If you know any shmup with attractive high-quality graphics, please tell. I will than try to convince her to try it :)

Edit:
Despite the description you don't need a controller. You can play it with keyboard without any problems.

That one looks really cool! First I thought it was single player only, but I read it is possible to play together with keyboard+controller.

Thanks for that finding!

Oh, I thought you meant she just dislikes the ones that look really clearly pixelated. As someone who appreciates good high-detail pixel art, I'm disappointed she doesn't like it, but oh well. That said I'm more curious whether she objects to pixel art or just fixed-camera gameplay -- for example, whether she might object to this game, which appears to be 3D, albeit with a 2D playing field.

And there are other quite neat-looking shmups with co-op possibilities, such as these:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/394430/Dimension_Drive/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/606730/Sine_Mora_EX/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/667600/Sky_Force_Reloaded/

Unfortunately I haven't played any of them so I can't tell which ones are good. But what youcan do is use this search link:

http://store.steampowered.com/search/?tags=4255&category3=39

It searches for games tagged "Shoot 'Em Up" and with "Local Co-op" listed under Number of Players. There's about 50 or so of these games (not counting bundles nor platformers), and you can even mouse over each game to see a small preview of screenshots.

....that said....

...you never said she objected to platformers per se, just "primitive graphics". So I wonder how she'd react to a game like Cuphead.

would be topdown and is like magicka.

i could recommend simply playing "telltale-style games"(modern point and click) together. which is like playing a longer interactive movie, which some people took literally and created this:

if you ever wanna break up:

It's not about fixed camera or even 2D/3D. She just does not like any graphics that looks "old" or amateur made.

Sine Mora EX looks very good to me. Sky Force Reloaded also pretty nice.
Will show her this two :)

Also I believe platformers can be interesting to her. Cuphead looks very nice, except she may say that characters looks "old"-styled :D
I will show it to her also.

Thanks!

Not sure about such "watching" format for us, but it worse trying. Maybe we'll try Walking Dead, as we watching this series together :)

Keep Talking looks different than other games, probably also worse trying. Will keep your advice about it :D

Thanks!

you also can play on keyboard together
games without the excluded features ? Man that sounds boring :aod_salute:
Try Saints Row 3, it has an open world yes, but it's not that big. Plus the game is completely silly and will make you laugh if you play together. Had some great multiplayer/co-op experience there.

Tropico 6 will be made by the My Little Pony company in attempt to remove the dictator element, and bring SJW's and safe spaces into games. Like when Ghost Crafwler made League of Legends a girls game, this one is next. Men are the bad guys. Check it out.
